Torture to setup, but once complete it works well

I use a dual OS computer - Linux running virtual Windows 10. It took several hours of fussing with the drivers and updates under Win 10 to finally get it to recognize and print to 11x17 paper which is why I bought this printer instead of an ordinary printer. It is fast and the prints look good and it automatically knows which tray to use. Part of the problem is Win 10's idiotic computers-for-dummies method of selecting printers and paper. It just didn't want to learn a new trick and accommodate anyone above a 4th grade level who might want to use more advanced print options. I'd bet this problem is not unique to an Epson printer.
It just will not print to 11x17 under Ubuntu 16.04 Linux. I can work around that limitation for now. Or - I might return the printer if my wife is headed out later today.

Doesn't stay connected!

This is my 2nd replacement of the original printer I purchased in the same model. I picked this printer for its large paper/cardstock capabilities and print quality. For some reason this model loses network connection. It says it's connected with excellent connectivity, but yet it doesn't come up on pc and I have to reinstall the drivers and add the printer EVERY day I use the darn thing! Being it's a replacement, they do not allow it to upgrade which makes the situation worse. This may be the last printer I ever purchase from EPSON (and I have been using this company for at least 10 years) as I am so disappointed with this one!

Great features

I needed a printer that would print 11x17 pages and the Epson WorkForce WF-7620 was the only affordable all-in-one printer that had this capability. This enables me to print CAD drawings. I use it for all of my other printing, as well. Most of the printing I do is in the color setting due to a slight problem printing in black only that results in a smudged appearance in lines of print about every inch-and-a-half down the page. This problem goes away in color setting, but that results in more frequent color ink replacement. Other than that one problem (which could probably be remedied by replacing the print head), it's a great printer.

After trying out most of the features of the WF-7620, I am absolutely overjoyed with the results. Clean sharp print and great color printing.

Good Printer, A Few Drawbacks
on December 7, 2017

This is a good printer on its way to being great. We went from an Epson WF-4640 (still have it, but it's going to die soon) to this one. The print quality is great and it seems reliable. Some of the drawbacks: first, it sucks up ink like crazy. Part of it is that it has small ink cartridges, much smaller than the previous unit, so we're changing them all the time. It's annoying and costly. It has two paper trays which I love since I usually keep white in one and blue in the other, so I would use the rear paper tray on the old one for checks, envelopes or legal paper. On this one, however, you can only load one piece of paper in the back so it's a ton less convenient. Also you're supposed to be able to put 11x17 in the paper tray but it doesn't fit so if I want to print on 11x17 I have to do it one sheet at a time from the rear tray, and if we want to print 13x19 same thing - one at a time. I don't mind not being able to put it in the lower trays but it would be nice to be able to stack even a few sheets or envelopes in the back. Speaking of envelopes, on the old printer you could print envelopes and it would nicely put the return address close to the top and left-hand edges. This one won't. It will print closer to the top but the closest you can get to the left-hand side of the envelope is an inch - which is very far in for return addresses. It does scan nicely and as I said, we like the print quality. It just seems that with Epson, every time they put out new printers with new features, they lose some of the great features of the older models.
I would recommend this to a friend!
