Extremely disappointed

I've had this printer for less than 2 years and it has quit printing in color. All I get are striped lines of color. I've tried new cartridges, cleaning the print heads, aligning the heads. Nothing works. I've had Epson printers in the past that have worked well. This one is a total disappointment

Good printer

I have had two of these now and I like the way they print. I don't have problems with setting things up, printing, scanning or faxing. Much better than my experience with HP printers. I appreciate that I can keep 11x17 paper in the second tray and that helps me printing out all the plans I need. The one complaint that I would share is that you cannot choose to use the printer with just black ink. You can choose to print in grey scale, but those other four print cartridges MUST be in the printer in order for it to operate. So not matter what, you better be able to afford all the ink, all the time.

Doesn't like card stock
on September 21, 2014

Printer installed simply and easily on my OS 10.9.4 system. I started using it with plain 8.5 x 11 stock and all seemed to go quickly and efficiently. Although a bit more frustrating when using card stock. Printer breezes through ⅓ of the stock and then stops, generating 1000's of error messages and hangs there. Although I like the printer, I need to work with it more to get this corrected—or—my need/use for this workforce will be useless and I will be resorting to my old NX 420.

Too Many Problems

After 12 months of small business use of this WF-7620...
PROS: Good Print/Copy/Fax Quality
CONS: Paper jams due to poor paper path design & build - especially in 2-sided duplexing mode.
Drops Wi-Fi signal mid-print job very often, even when other devices have strong signal, probably due to low quality antenna in printer.
Restarts error & interrupted print jobs at the start & reprints the whole thing, rather than just the unprinted pages, thereby wasting paper & ink.
Extremely slow printing in duplex 2-sided mode, so not suitable for business use for mid to large 2-sided reports etc.
Has trouble completing larger print jobs over 10-15 pages, sending error message & forcing to reprint the entire job.
Even the largest capacity ink cartridges do not last very long, & the low ink warnings seem to start when still 25% full.
Epson update software keeps asking to update the firmware, but then gives error message that it is not for my printer (WF-7620).
Each download of printer drivers to another computer requires a full registration process (otherwise it keeps reminding to register) - rather than recognizing the serial number & owner as already registered & moving on, or having an "Already Registered" option at the start.
I've had Epson printers for my business since late 1980's, & the others were far better.

Expected Better
on October 14, 2015

This printer is a very functional, medium volume machine, that delivers excellent print quality and fast production. Double sided printing on 11x17 paper is awesome.
However, based on my many years of experience with Epson printers, I expected better. Specifically:
1. The printer does not print #10 envelopes properly, based on a flaw in the Epson printer driver. I spent over 4 - 1/2 hours on the phone with technical support without a resolution of this issue. Still unresolved after receiving a new replacement printer. Poor software driver. 2. The single sheet feed rear slot is a disappointment when it is described in the product specifications as "with a rear tray for specialty paper." I expected to be able to load this "rear tray" with multiple sheets of paper as on my other Epson Workforce printer. Instead, you must manually select the rear slot each time you print, and always remember to send the print job before loading the single sheet of paper. You must also confirm the print after you load each single sheet of paper. Poor physical design, poor software. 3. The ink cartridges. 350 pages from the standard black cartridge? Really? This massive machine should have MASSIVE, high capacity ink cartridges. 4. The printer makes little squeaking noises when the print head carriage goes back and forth, and the printer gently rocks side to side. Perhaps separating the print head from the cartridges as on my other two Epson multifunction printers would reduce this noise and commotion. 5. EpsonScan software provides a clunky interface that is dissapointingly slow for scanning business text documents. The scanner sheet feeder seems to intermittently skew the paper as it feeds.
Other than that, a great printer!

This product is challenging to use
on June 15, 2015

This Printer/Scanner is not as easy to use as I was hoping it would be. I use a Mac (Yosemite 10.10.3) and its native printing interface. This printer uses a ton of ink, and is extremely sensitive in printing without color cartridges being full - even though you can select a print in black and white only. Additionally, pages sizes and cartridge selection is not intuitive from document to be printed to output - if I do not manually select, then there is a likely chance it will not print out of the correct cartridge. I use 2 cartridges (8.5x11, and 11x17). Print quality is also not great - especially alignment. If you are printing black and white line drawings on 11x17, there is a strong chance that there will be mis-alignments along the length of the page.

Great but needs to remember settings

I love everything about this printer. BUT...
It keeps forgetting that 11x17 is loaded in tray 1. Almost daily I send 11x17 to it and it states that tray 1 only has letter. I then have to cancel my print, change the settings again, then resend print
Annoying.

Not only did I get a great deal on the purchase of this printer, but it was sooo easy to set up for printing via cable and wireless with my other computers and electronic devices. Printing on different papers through different paper trays from different devices all through the day, it handles them all. And the quality is excellent--finally I can make my own art prints, even up to 13x19, and I can also imprint inside my offset printed cards for custom orders from customers. I've been considering this purchase for at least two years, and have been talking to other professional artists for the past six months on the best choice for a small studio, and this was it.
