Paper size selectivity sensor
on May 28, 2016

Our Epson WF-7620 holds two paper sizes for printing our business' photos, paperwork, etc. BUT, the printer INSISTS that phots MUST be on glossy paper in the tray if ITS choosing. This causes us to repeatedly shift the plain paper in the trays & then "tell" the printer the paper is glossy HOW TO FIX this "glitch" so that we can print on whichever size and type paper in the paper tray of our choosing. VERY FRUSTRATING? Our IT worker is flabbergasted to what our production process yet was unsure how to rectify this challenge.

Nice But Wanted To Pull My Hair Out!
on January 8, 2015

I was really excited when I got my new WF 7620. It had all the bells and whistles and I just couldn't beat the price. It really sucked through the trial ink in just a few pages but I was prepared for that. Then all of a sudden every time I tried to print a page it came out sideways. It took me forever to change all the settings and add paper to the other drawer to get it to print properly. Oh then, I could not get the drawer to close properly. That took me an hour to finally figure out the problem. I had to pick the printer up, to relieve the weight off the drawer, in order to close it properly. Go figure. So, back to printing.......not so quickly! For no apparent reason, I think the power went out but again, I'm not sure (I'm running off a MiFi) it says I no longer have a connection. It says the printer is off line. I tried re-installing but that didn't work because the CD wouldn't reinstall all the way. I'm not sure why. There just wasn't any connection between the computer and the printer. I tried all the trouble shooting ideas that Epson had to offer. And of course I had an important document that I really needed to print! I spent two days trying to figure this out. Did I mention that I am not tech savy. And yes, I did try shutting everything off, unplugging and rebooting everything. Finally, I went back to the begginning with the printer and reinstalled the information on the Mifi and password. Oh yea, and registered the printer on the printer. Not sure why that made a big difference but it seemed to. Presto! I can print again. I have half my hair but my printer is working again. I really like the way it prints when it prints. As for copying, that is not so simple either. It took me about 20 tries just to make one simple copy. I sure have a lot to learn about this printer.

So good I bought two! (Which brings some problems)
on April 13, 2015

I have been using Epson All-In-One devices for years. I recently upgraded them all (three total) to 3640s and a 7620. The 7620 works great and I love the ability to print on ledger size paper. The scanner function works well, but that brings me to my two problems...
1. We have one computer that multiple people sign into and use Fast User Switching. The Epson Event Manager only launches on the first login. When someone uses "Scan to PC" from the printer control panel, they are scanning to the event manager of the first user. This causes a lot of confusion and frustration as the only way to capture the Scan to PC output is to restart the computer to and login so that Epson Event Manager is running under your login.
2. The Epson Scan utility does not allow you to select which scanner to use when there are more than one of the same model.
Hopefully, someday these issues will be resolved.

Hardest printer to set up ever
on March 21, 2016

I have had several printers, never had so many problems setting up. I purchased this primarily for scrapbooking purposes. (12x12 sheets) I am frustrated beyond words and would likely have taken this back if it was not so heavy. That said it does print beautiful photos when you finally get it to work. Have had this printer since March 10th, its now the 21st and still can't get it to print from rear on cardstock. which I also use for scrapbooking on 8x10 cardstock and printing cards. (use both sizes for scrapbooking) I have a Mac computer...not that it should matter as it is supposed to work. Think you could include usb cord.

Cannot get WF 7620 scanning to work with Windows 10. Colors are not as crisp and sharp as the 8600. This unit would not make the grade in my work office environment.

Good printer overall

The Epson WF-7620 is a good machine overall. The set-up can be time consuming as my downloading took almost an hour. There also can be issues of getting the correct settings for the paper trays and type of paper selected. I haven;t tried the Epson support yet, but will soon as it still is not accepting my changes when selected on the printer. Hoping for excellent results. Still nice clean copies when they are produced!

Not the best printer on the market. This is my second Epson and the former printer WF 7520 as well as this printer the WF 7620 both have problems with the paper feed. Sometimes 10 or so sheets try to go through automatically. This is not good. If there were issues with the print feed on the former model, you would think they might have addressed it by now - not so. They just changed the model so they could charge more for ink, or at least that's the way it seems.
