best of both worlds

Having a font tray for paper gives us the speed of the front loading for normal operation. We make our own greeting cards and the card stock feed in the rear allows us to print these without jam ups.

AWFUL PRINTER - TO BE AVOIDED
on April 29, 2016

This was the first EPSON and first inkjet printer I ever owned. I bought it only because my color laser all-in-one printer, which I use for work, died late one night after nearly three years of perfect service and the nationally-known electronics store where I went to purchase a new one had no color lasers in stock. As I was in dire need of a printer, the salesman persuaded me to look at the EPSON color all-in-one. The EPSON literature indicated I would get comparable service from this printer and at a lower cost with their inksaving technology. This was not the case. The printer was slow to warm up, slow to print, often had to have the print nozzles cleaned (which took many minutes and made printing impossible until it was done), had user unfriendly software, and went through expensive ink at a much faster rate than any laser I have ever had. After just a few months and relatively little use, the printer malfunctioned, insisting that I had to add ink even though I had just put in a new cartridge. I called EPSON and they said that the machine had to be repaired. When I googled this problem and the model of the machine, I discovered that there were a great many complaints about this very issue from unhappy owners which leads me to conclude that the machine has a design defect. Happily for me, I had purchased an extended warranty from the store where I had bought the EPSON so, when I brought the machine in, they told me to choose another printer whereupon I immediately took home a newly-introduced color laser all-in-one from a well-known company. Based on my experience, I would NEVER BUY ANY EPSON PRODUCT (or any other inkjet printer again).

Painful to manage

There's nothing on this machine that works the way it is supposed to every time. For instance, every time I've tried printing borderless, it gives up halfway through the 4th page, wasting both ink and paper and making me start over. Or the first time I tried to print black & white when the color was out, if worked fine. The next time color ran out there was no way to override. Granted, they'd sent driver updates since the last, so I'm sure they got rid of that feature in favor of selling more ink. This machine is a hunk of plastic on my desk now. Looks good, but can't rely on it to function. And to say it eats ink is no joke, you might get 1/3 to 1/2 the pages it describes, which must be quoted in draft format, which isn't a good enough print even for home use.

Easy setup, every thing functions as it should, easy to understand interface. The printer is fairly fast and reasonable on the ink. With separate ink cartridges you only have to replace the color that is empty.

This printer replaces an older WF610. It was just time for effortless AirPrint in this all Apple household.
The 3620 is a breeze to set up, and is easy to use and control.

Great Printer & Ink

This is likely more printer than I need, but it works like a charm; it scans multiple pages quickly; it is easy to set up and the wireless feature is invaluable--I can use it anywhere in the house; I can make copies; and it prints very nice pictures.
The ink works perfectly. And if you get the larger sized black cartridge, it lasts a lot longer.
I don't have anything negative to say about the printer or the ink.
