Thought It Was The Best Purchase Ever

I was looking for an all-in-one printer which had capability to scan, copy and print from files. Everything was fine as I printed card stock, docs and labels. Had some trouble scanning a sales receipt. Where the printer failed was printing envelopes. A very big problem with sizes. With the envelope flap on the left, the envelope prints the address first and then the return address. If you use an envelope smaller than a size 10, the return address prints off the envelope. Size 10 (standard business envelope) is the only option to print an envelope. Since I produce many greeting cards with various sizes of envelopes I could not accept this feature.

Epson WorkForce WF-3620 All-in-One Printer

Printer easy to set up, but I did not connect to wireless yet. Printer sometimes says there's a paper jam, but there is Not. Once said printer nozzles must be clogged, & wasted ink cleaning. (Printer was new). Print preview on computer is horrible!! Scanner to computer is unfriendly if doing more than one at a time. Ink is expensive and no place is allowed to discount or use of coupons!!

It's a constant struggle ...

Power off; power on. Uninstall software; reinstall software. These are the solutions customer support offers to get a brand new printer to work. Honestly, if you're looking for a bluetooth printer, this isn't a good choice. If you're computer goes idle, the driver will no longer work. You have to uninstall and reinstall. If the printer is asleep, the print job will not be communicated. Tap the power button, then cancel the print job, uninstall the driver and reinstall the driver. Then, it may work, but not likely. You'll have to do this several times before you have a clean bluetooth connection. Total time suck and really frustrating. On the up side, it does't use up ink like other printers.

Setup instructions were horrible
on October 20, 2015

In what I suppose was an attempt to be language-neutral, the setup procedure was entirely opaque. One is instructed to set up the time and date, etc. but no actual instructions on doing that are provided. I didn't know the tiny screen on the printer was touch-sensitive, and that the icon that looked like it meant "go back" was actually supposed to mean "enter". It took a call to tech support to figure this out.
Typing on the tiny keyboard was really frustrating with my thick fingers which inevitably hit the adjacent keys. It should tell you that you can skip the fax setup and do it later with your computer. The "Load paper" pictograph had me looking for a blue tray - it turned out to be black. This is typical of all those weird drawings that have no text to explain what they're trying unsuccessfully to convey.

Worst Printer I Ever Owned

I purchased this printer in January 2015. I July I started receiving false 'Paper Jam' errors. I called Tech Support and they swapped it out for a refurbished model. I had to give them a charge card to hold until the defective one was returned. It is now November and I am receiving the same false error message. Again I contacted Tech Support and they were willing to send me another refurbished model and asked for a charge card. Who's to say that in 6 months I will not have the same issue? I will buy a more reliable brand and take this consider this a loss.

Rear paper feed
on March 9, 2016

One of the reasons I purchased this Epson was so I could use the rear paper feed to print checks. Beware! This machine will only print ONE sheet at a time from the rear paper feed!! The print quality cannot be adjusted from light to dark if you use the rear paper feed. Print quality not optional, only option is color. The rear paper feed is somewhat cantankerous. The machine loads the single sheet of paper you are allowed & there is an alignment feeder but it can still say the sheet of paper isn't straight & it will not print. You have to remove the paper & reload it & wait for the printer to grab it & bring it down into the machine. If you want to print from your smartphone you have to register the product online before it will allow you access the print function. My phone showed that the printer was there & that it was printing, but wouldn't print my document until I registered the printer online. I found this out after reading several pages in the Users Guide which only barely mentions this once in one section hidden deep in the guide. Took a couple of hours to set up, maybe longer if you're not familiar with wifi printer equipment.

This printer, an Epson Workforce 3620, is used primarily for B & W text plus incidental color. Some scanning has been done. Neither the copying or FAX functions have been used. The printer has been in use for three months.
I have the following observations.
1. Automatic two-sided printing is useful and works well. 2. The printer was selected because, among those that would fit in the space available, this one had the feel of being physically sturdier. Print speed and photo quality were not considered, as my print volume is low and photos are printed at Fred Meyer, which is cheaper. 3. In spite of comment 2 above, the output tray and paper drawer do not slide in and out smoothly. 4. Ink is expensive. Very expensive. 5. Setup was uneventful. 6. Epson sends me too much email, including one UNIDENTIFIED piece asking me to install an update!! This experience might be enough to send me to a different brand next time, all else being more or less equal. 7. Print speed is fine for my occasional use. 8. It has scanned photos for editing in Lightroom. The scans are fine for the purpose of 4 x 6 prints.

WF-3620

I have had my WF-3620 for 2 weeks now. I waited this long to be able to give an accurate review. I purchased an Epson product because I like Epson ink. The ink is great, the machine is so-so. The instruction manuals both printed and on-line are horrible. If you can't figure out how to do something on your own forget trying to use their instruction manual. This is my third Epson. Would I buy another? Probably not.
