EPSON WorkForce WF-3620 a 5 * all in 1

by far the best all in 1 printer I've ever bought!!!nice size, not to big & bulky. lcd screen good size, but also has push buttons on front, Wi-Fi connection, reads usb, sd cards,& ms cards. ink is reasonable priced, fast print, continually updating software & firmware. I have had no problems with this printer easy to use as a stand alone, or with great communication with pc ,laptop, notebook, etc. lots of options, way more than the last 3 printers I bought. after buying & using this machine, I'm sold on Epson....

Stupid programming

I've used Epson printers for decades, and this one, a Work Force 3620, is the least intuitive. Down right stupid! No where does it tell you to TOUCH the screen. And the forward icon is actually a backwards arrow! A spring popped out of the paper tray, and it seems to be unable to charge the ink, making a horrible sound. I bought a lemon.

Pretty sad

I've purchased my last EPSON. This is my 3rd. The other's weren't too bad, but I don't do photo or those kinds of projects. I gave the last one to a non-profit so I could buy one that had a slot to print envelopes. I got so tired of taking all of the paper out of the cassette, reset it for ONE envelope, print, then reset the cassette for letter size paper and put the paper back in. The WF-3620 back slot for envelopes is lousy. The touch screen is frustrating and I'm tired of wasting paper and being told to load the envelope into a cassette. I'm returning this one!!!! It's not for normal office use. Also had trouble taking a copy of a check. It kept telling me I had a wrong paper size. I just wanted a copy - not a copy the same size as the check. DONE!!

Day 1 Out-of-the-box Experience painful

Physical set up was easy but software took hours. I would follow directions faithfully and the set up process would crash part way through without any option but to stop and redo the install from scratch.
A few pointers:
1. After first dismal failure at installing software (including drivers), reboot.
2. Use Windows Control Panel to add the new printer to your computer or network.
3. Then restart the setup process and instead of selecting a fresh install, select the option for a printer already attached to the network.
May my pain help you to an easier, less frustrating installation process. I can print - HAVEN"T TRIED TO SCAN YET>

Great hardware, disingenuous software.

I can't copy 2 sided documents without de ADF, I can't scan to PDF a couple of pages, when you insert a page in the rear feeder the change isn't automated, you need to select it in options. When you copy an ID Card, you need to calculate where to place it because software doesn't fix alignment and position of the card, if you place it in the edge then you have an ugly not centered copy of the card.

set up instructions
on November 21, 2015

The set up instructions should be more explicit. Nowhere is it mentioned that the screen is a touch screen only and that the arrows get you nowhere. There was a lot of needless frustration that Epson writers could have avoided. I should add I have an Artisan 837 that I love and that I would like to spare from everyday printing. Setting up the Artisan was a piece of cake compared with this WF3620.

The printer is OK. The scanner will not work using your local wi-fi network (it is supposed to work but in fact delivers only error messages).

Easy to install but lack of instructions
on July 31, 2014

Great printer and after viewing the different reviews I was amazing of the capabilities of the printer. However, the instructions that came with the printer are lacking of instruction on how and what to do next. It is easy to install as long as you know what you are doing. In addition, please make sure you update the software and the firmware. After you open the guide (once the software is loaded into your computer) you will find the how to get your wireless direct set up, but only after you set up the printer. I hope this help. Great printing, my wife could not recognized the copy from original and fast copying capabilities.
