The BASIC instructions are TOO BASIC - lots of info left out that would facilitate installation and setup. Hire a GOOD tech writer to place the steps with DETAIL in proper order. This is a nightmare for the layman. I have a Ph.D and considerable mechanical background and am a skilled craft worker and this process frustrated me at every turn. The tiny numbers on the display screen do not accurately respond to touch- often displays an adjacent number.

First experience with Epson

I just purchased my first Epson product, a Work Force WF3620 all-in-one printer. I was extremely impressed with the design and ease in following the setup material and process for setup. It was the best printer setup experience I have had among several printers owned over many years. Also, in making this purchase I carefully compared just about all comparable offerings and found none having the well-thought ergonomics of this machine. For example, a major competitor current comparable unit fails to load/print card stock, glossy photo, etc., despite saying it does (was returned promptly) and lacks several nice ergonomic and functionally advantageous designs that this Epson unit provides. For example, this Epson 3620 has a back loading tray for various paper types, envelopes, etc., has a better designed easier to open and load paper tray and an elevating back hinge to the top cover that allows for scanning of thicker materials, such as books and magazines on the flat bed scan surface. In addition, the unit is noticeably smaller (smaller footprint), yet very solid and seemingly well made. Given this initial experience, along with the many reviews of this product, I’m excited about using this Epson printer and optimistic that my initial outstanding experience will continue throughout use of the machine. So now, off I go eagerly to put the unit through use.

doesn't recognize its own ink cartridge

At the end of a job, printer beeped and gave the message "doesn't recognize cartridge" with a reference to the magenta cartridge. even worse it doesn't recognize its own EPSON fairly full ink cartridge. at 9;30 PM it is now an 8lb door stop - good for nothing until i "replace the cartridge with a new ..." if that doesn't work i'm to "check out the printer"...REALLY - stick me with a worthless pile of electronics an plastic AND expect me to buy one more of your cartridges? Why would i do that. no one to call, no help at all....

After 2 hours of figuring out how to follow the instructions--finally get a paper saying -we successfully installed Epson printer--I tried to print something from the computer--NOTHING!!! Happened!! Time and Date isn't correct! What a disaster!! I guess this won't make your web page!

Initial installation is not intuitive. Instructions are very vague. What should have taken 5 minutes took 20 minutes.

today we put our workforce 645 to rest and ran to office depot and found this beauty WF-3620. Ive been using it for the last 3 hours and am IN LOVE. its FAST, prints great and has all the function for todays technology. lovin the touch screen display! I love it so much that when I went back to the office supply store today to get paper ( yeah, oops forgot that) I talked another consumer out of another brand and she too bought the Epson!

I have a small home-based art and publishing business and need a good solid, dependable, high-quality printer/scanner/fax (since fax still exists, sort of) that works quickly. This machine does everything I want, and installed effortlessly. Very clear directions, no complications. I hope it works as effortlessly as it installed!

very disappointing! This all-in-one printer steps all the time due to paper format non recognised, the scanner is difficult to set up. I have had problem since the beginning and you can't get proper help.
