It could have larger ink cartridges

It works quite well and fast. The quality of the copies is first rate. It could be improved by producing it with ink cartridges that only have to be changed every 2500 copies.

WorkForce WF-3640

I had read numerous reviews before purchasing this Epson printer. I had a doubt or two, but then took into account my past experience with Epson printers I had purchased. I have always been very satisfied with them from photo printers to all-in-ones. I have an iMac and was thinking a lot of the negative comments/reviews may have been from PC owners.
Setting this printer up was a breeze; was tested from another desktop computer, and also from my iPhone. The WF-3640 performed quite well and even printed a two sided document with no problem. All people have to do is follow the directions (which were quite easy and explicit) and there should not be any difficulties.
I will use it for various tasks and my wife will use it quite heavily, since she is continuously printing documents for work (she is a school teacher).
I also set it up for FAX entering my cover page data, but have not actually sent one as of yet. I still need to try to copy a document, but don't expect any problems based on my previously mentioned results. I did scan a document resulting as a pfd file to my computer, and it worked well.
I haven't tried out printing any photographs, yet, but may give it a go in the near future. I highly recommend purchasing this Epson WorkForce WF-3640 printer.

Quality but Confusingn

Years ago I bought an Epson printer, and then didn't again for many years because I found it confusing to use. The interface was not intuitively designed. So, after using HP printers for many years, I am now back to Epson. Unlike the HP printers, the Epson installed seamlessly and easily. Unlike the HP printers, it printed documents with Sanskrit text, both in portrait and landscape (HP couldn't). Unlike the HP printers, the Epson did not go to sleep and then stop printing. Unlike the HP printer, the Epson maintained its wifi connection without error messages and drops. Unlike the HP printer, the Epson has continued to work well and properly after install. I was even startled at the feel of the Epson, that it felt like so much better quality than the HP's.
Unfortunately, however, I was disappointed that the user interface has not been improved in all of these years to be more intuitive. I tried faxing, and could not tell whether the document had been sent successfully. I could find the history list, but not the status of the job. I had to call to find out whether it was received. Very frustrating. I would think that Epson would have improved this after all of these years.
That said, in terms of quality, I am very impressed with the Epson, especially in comparison to the several HP printers that I had to return. I hope that over time I will figure everything out and be less frustrated with the Epson interface.

WF-3640 review

Purchased this item to replace a WF-845 whose ability to receive and print FAXes died. Had that unit a couple of years and really didn’t receive all that many FAXes, but when I did need it one day, it indicated a paper jam error when one didn’t really exist. All other functions worked perfectly.
Have only had this unit for a couple of weeks and so far, so good; everything seems to work fine. Hopefully, it will stay that way and will allow me to receive and print a FAX when needed.
Only thing I miss is a “hard” external button to enable/disable the FAX receive mode since I am using our regular telephone line for FAXes too. You need to go into the Administrator Settings section to allow, or disable the FAX receive function so the phone works normally without the machine doing the answering….. expecting a FAX to come through. A few extra steps, but think I can live with it.

FAIRLY EASY

I am not computer savvy whatsoever. Epson walked me through the whole process, and I am 60 yrs young. It would have been nice if it would have "continued" in connecting my Android phone. after connecting to fax. OVERALL EASY and WOULD RECOMMEND this product for connection purposes.

setup

setup was not as easy as I expected. It didn't have the flow of instruction. You have to work with the Start Here manual, Quick Guide, & the CD that came with it. You go back & forth between them to get the printer going. Also, picture instruction without description made it hard to follow the instruction

Printer had to be returned, ink color did not work

I purchased the Epson All-in-One WorkForce WF 3640 printer. It was fairly easy to install. Unfortunately, I had to return the printer. The ink color did not work. I typed something in red on my computer but it printed in yellow. I checked that the yellow and blue were working properly and the cartridges were installed correctly.
