#2 Turn on and configure:
The pictures did not show how or where to click after entering the date, then time. The backward arrow, did its job, but I was stuck for a while trying numberous buttons.
I finally happened to hit the lower right corner arrow on the touch screen. The instructions were not explicit....

EPSON 3640

This is the first EPSON printer I have purchased in over 25 years, It is also the best printer that I have ever purchased. It has the features I was looking for in a printer, plus the price made it even more attractive. Multi paper trays and a a rear paper feed are a great PLUS, no more removing and changing paper. The ability to scan to any location in my computer with the scan program is another great feature. The greatest feature is it is simple to operate and so far very Reliable. I wonder why it took me so long to return to EPSON!!

Aside from the problem of Epson printers not being compatible with the 5Ghz WiFi band; after turning that off, the installation went off well. Some initial problems with printing photos. Can't store a stack of photo paper in the second tray. Must feed them one at a time through the rear paper slot. Inconvenient, yes, deal breaker, no. Photos print out beautifully and the new touchscreen is better than the one on the Artisan 810 I replaced. Also like the larger black ink cartridge in the XL. Also a big improvement over the 810.

complicated issues in favor of Epson

I have had this printer for months and still can't figure out how it works. It keeps telling me there is a paper jam when there is NO paper jam. Color print oversaturates and smears. B&W printing is so faint you can hardly read it. I'm sorry because I bought 4 of these printers.

Heads went bad twice, now out of warranty. Bummed!

This is a great printer, with chock full of features which all work well. Unfortunately, that's only when it works. After 7 months, Epson replaced my printer because of badly clogged heads, and now, 8 months later, same thing. Only now its out of warranty, so too bad. I'd give it a 1 out of 5, but it is a good printer when it works.
Bad design, Epson. cleaning the heads actually makes it worse. FIX IT.

Every time that I have bought one on their products. I have issues. If I do not print within a few days the ink heads dry up, nothing prints correctly and I have to spend about 30 minutes running the head cleaning process in order to get a few pages printed. I have owned several Epson printers and the same thing has happened to each printer i have owned.
