Powerful, Useful, but Confusing Setup

To this day, I cannot find any ETHERNET connection to plug in this printer. It does work perfectly well by WIFI. But still, why oh why advertise it does? Or is it because the packaging and literature covers more than one model? BUT THAT'S CONFUSING. Also, the software to operate this printer is all OVER the place. You are directed to webpages, multiple download options, back doors (tapping through wifi), on-screen (printer), and the packaged CD. I have NO idea if I'm running the latest software, firmware or whatnot. BUT Epson is real good at forcing pop ups to encourage you to replace ink long before its empty!! So.. good printer. If you get it working, it is awesome. But it is INSANELY explained with poor customer interface.
I would recommend this to a friend!

UNABLE TO PRINT WITH FIREWALL ON

I SPENT HALF A DAY TRYING TO SET UP THIS PRINTER SO THAT I COULD PRINT FROM MY LAPTOP. NOW THAT I FINALLY PRINTED OUT THEIR "CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED YOUR NEW EPSON PRINTER!" PAGE AFTER INSTALLING AND SETTING UP; THE PRINTER WILL NOT WORK UNLESS I TURN OFF MY FIREWALL EVERY SINGLE TIME TO PRINT. THIS PRINTER IS NOT USER FRIENDLY AND THEY NEED TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

Re WF 3649 set up. I could not set up the Wi-Fi connection after several hours on my own and speaking with two tech support staff. The final conclusion was that I must contact my Internet provider. The Internet is fine, signal strong and unwavering. I am very unghappy since this feature was the selling point. The printer is installed and prints via a USB connection only. Incidentally, the printer is very large, more so that I expected (admittedly did not check the dimensions before purchasing

Horrible internet connectivity

This is my second epson printer in 6 months and this thing won't stay connected to the internet. It has difficulty detecting my MAC in the same room. I'm stuck with this. 1st printer wouldn't connect continually and the ink changes caused lines on my paper that couldn't be fixed with the machines cleaning features. You get what you pay for. When everything works it seems to do OK.

Terrible

This is my second Epson printer in 1 year. The first one stop working after 3 months, I discarded it. This one WF 3640, works fine for 1 month and then again it stop functioning. The problem this time is it couldn't find my Wi-Fi. I re install the driver, manually try to set it up etc etc- nothing. What a piece of Junk

What a waste of money

I do not know anything good to say about this machine. My son and I have wasted a good part of three days with it. I t has printed three pages from this computer in that time. It does print ok from my I phone.

Setup is confusing

Setup was very confusing, there are no real instructions, had I not been a savvy PC person in my former life it would have been returned to the store. My wife could not have installed the software on the PC the disc would not auto start when placed in the DVD drive. it took several shutdowns and restarts to get it to load.
The Manual setup of the printer prior to installing the Software on the PC was very confusing. Terminolgy and lack of information very poor lay person trying to install and configure verin confussing!
