So far in the first two months it has been better than any printer before it.
Set up took some time to get the drivers installed, but I had it connected to my Galaxy 5 berfore my network, it may depend on the OS of the computer.
I don't know why all the complaints for the noise, it is also quiter that any of my other printers, faster and best quality as well.
Don't forget to download Epson iprint on the smart phone first, Epson Printer Finder wouldn't hurt either.
It would be nice if Epson had a windows program for the printer so all of the functions could be accessed without going in to the printer properties.

I am retired and thought I was past the need for lots of features on my printer, but this printer offered so much at such an attractive price, it was actually cheaper than other less functional printers. After using now for a couple of months I am even more firmly convinced I made the right choice. The wireless feature allows me to print from my desktop, my laptop and a future smart phone. The two drawer paper trays allow me to have two types of paper staged -- a plus when I might be two levels away from the physical location. The autofeeder for scanning and copying works reliably. Most of my photo scanning I do on a higher resolution stand alone scanner, but the on in the WF-3640 is great for scanning bills, receipts, etc to eliminate paper filing. I will probably never use the fax feature but as I said, at the price I paid, it was already free. I've also had a couple of software updates to the printer engine and supporting software, and the update process is reliable and easy.

Drops off wireless network
on May 5, 2015

The printer works great, but it will not stay connected on my wireless network. After about 48 hours, it drops off and I must cycle power on the printer to get it back. The printer wireless status icon says it's connected, but the router shows it dropped off. I have even tried setting it up with a static IP. Have looked at router setup and don't see that it's a Linksys problem - plenty of free IP addresses on DHCP. My old Epson WF-610 is still on the same network and doesn't *ever* drop out, so I seriously doubt the blame is outside the WF-3640. The WF-3640 is the only network device that is dropping off my network. I have even tried moving the printer closer to the wireless router. Yes I have downloaded the latest printer firmware and windows driver updates from Epson to no avail.

This printer/copier/scan/fax, is by far the best I have owned from Epson to date. The setup was easy, the printer works amazing, quiet, fast, gorgeous colors as usual. The wifi is a huge bonus!!
I would highly reccommend this to anyone.
Thank you Epson again!!
