I used this printer very infrequently. Only put new cartridges in 1 time in about 10 months use. I tried Epson Support...answer was to call for new printer and send this one back. Great, IF I didn't need to have the printer for meeting tomorrow!

Epson Experience

I have had Epson printers for several years and have been very satisfied with the performance of the products. My WF 3540 finally quit picking up the paper after about 4 years of moderate operations. I just purchased a WF 3640 as a replacement and I am expecting the same good performance from this new one. I especially like the ink and how it is stable even under water. I printed some business cards on card stock and went fishing with my wife in my canoe. She decided to jump overboard so the canoe went over with me in it. In my wallet were some of my business cards. Later back home I took them out and let them dry out and they were just as good as new. No smudging of the ink. True story except the wife says she did not jump overboard causing the canoe to capsize. She really did.

Clogged print head

Initially, a very good product that prints well. No difficulties installing.
4 months after purchase, yellow and magenta print heads are completely clogged. Using the recommended cleaning process does nothing but use ink excessively. Heads still clogged.

Bought it for the price, very pleased with ease of network setup and scan/print quality. The old Epsom WF finally gave out after several mcgiver patches (about 4 yrs old). We decided to go network for ease of mobile phone use and variety of Wi-Fi ready things around the house. Hooking everything up to the printer was easy. Our experience has been that the WFs are good for about 4-5 yrs before they die of something that can't be fixed. Our first one, it was just a broken piece of plastic in the paper feed. The WF series is good for light - medium duty service. I hate to print books from them though - jams don't occur frequently, but the odds go way up with lengthy docs.

This all in one replaced a previous Epson 545 that had been worked hard and has found a new home in a lower tempo environment, semi-retirement. The Epson products consistently exceed expectations, operate reliably and product excellent copies and photos. Two paper trays is a real plus.
