Epson Workforce 3640 - not a good bet

The machine does not live up to its name. The print head(s) failed within five months. I spent a good deal of time with Epson support on a couple of occasions, but to no avail. I cannot recommend this product.

This printer has had issues since we got it. intermittently lines will be off/garbled, and the colors are way off. we have been considering taking it back but i keep hoping that an update will fix it. i thought i had registered it already but have reregistered and redownloaded drivers/software hoping it will fix itself if this doesn't fix we will take it back but it will be a waste time and money especially for the ink we bought for it.

Setup was clear and clean. Probably more printer than I need for home use but I like the all in one printing, three color cartridge system, higher resolution printing, multiple paper trays, wireless, wired and USB setup options and good for Windows 7 and 10.

I was very surprised when I found out that I could not install the software and drivers via the enclosed CD. Since I have Windows 10.1 I had to download it from your web site

The WF-3640 took a bit of trial and error to set up. The instructions need a bit of clarification.

In my opinion--
Needed to replace some printers (the old brand had such poor CS that we were not going to use them again)--borrowed an older Epson printer--but when the ink cartridges needed replacing it was cheaper to buy this brand new Epson printer (which can also scan, copy, and fax)---and cartridges for this new printer are much cheaper!
The setup process took way too long (2 hours and 45 minutes)--and this was just for one computer.
Epson should have an Icon on their web page for this printer --with a note next to it --" I just bought a new 3640 printer and want to use it (today)" ---then people could click this icon and --avoid using the disc (since they will need to update the software any way)--since their web site would know that it is a new setup --it could then also have the process avoid many steps (and re-doing of steps due to what is now a multi option package).
We live in a plug and play world --it is time that the printer companies of the world got on board with this.
