Customer Service at installation

I bought the WF-3640 but the instructions said the CD would do the setup. Not so! I called the 800 Help number that was included and a Kris in the Philippines walked me through the programming setup, the network setup, and the fax setup. He even sent a fax to prove it worked. There's no way I could have puzzled my way through the manual and completed this myself. The printer would be plugged in and I still would not have a fax. Thank you Epson!

Much easier to install than any printer I have had before. It works great as long as it is plugged in but will not work in wireless mode. There is not enough information in the written documentation or online to get the printer to work in wireless mode.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great promise, little delivery

I bought this print because I wanted to be able to print color and have a duplex feeder for scanning and copying.
Unfortunately it didn't work as well I expected. There were several problems.
1. The printer didn't feed heavier paper. Sometimes I use 24 pound paper for things such as bound presentations. The printer didn't handle this well. Several times it didn't feed properly from the paper tray.
2. The paper didn't always feed photo stock from the secondary paper source on the back of the printer. Often the first sheet wouldn't feed properly.
3. I wanted good color with high resolution when painting photos. The resolution wasn't what I wanted. To be honest this printer was advertised as a photo printer. If you don't want to do photos then you can disregard this comment.
4. I thought the colors were off. This is an aesthetic judgement, so you may disagree.
5. The four-inch control screen was out of alignment. I had to press on the far right edge of each selection. I found the only way to enter my input was to press on the line between the left item --- one that I wanted --- and the next symbol to the right. This is tolerable for every symbol except the ones on the far right. These required several presses with my fingers half on the symbol and half on plastic border.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To those who are having problems with their printer disconnecting from the wireless router. Just reboot your router and it will fix that.
