SIMPLE TO SET UP!

One of the easiest products to set up wirelessly I have utilized. I have set up a number of wireless printers both for myself and friends, and this was a snap!

Just out of the box

Just opened and set up printer. Although not a tech geek, I found it simple and easy to install just following the instruction sheet. Easy! Will be putting through it's paces in the next few days.

3640 OK Printer
on December 6, 2014
Posted by: Doc
from Somerset, Ohio
The 3640 seems to work acceptably well. It is noisy, slower than the 3540, but otherwise seems to operate OK. I had a 3540, but a part broke and it was cheaper to purchase a new printer. Sadly Epson decided to eliminate the 3540, forcing me to purchase all new ink, and to purchase this similar, but not quite as good printer.

Setup issues
on December 7, 2014
Posted by: Cuthbert
from Austin, TX
The typical pictorial set up was not clear on the cartridges and what had to be removed and what had to stay. The install failed for an error where the printer "Maintenance Box" failed to detect. No where in the setup or "Quick Guide" is there any information on what a "Maintenance Box" is. Google came thru after a few tries. Why does a user have to keep an eye on the "Maintenance Box" ? The requirement to replace this component and that it fills up and requires attention was not mentioned in any of the sales information. By finding the box and then removing and reseating it resolved the problem an hour later. If this can get unseated in install or shipping then it should be detailed in the install information.

WF 3640

I like the printer and I like having 2 trays so I can send a letter or an envelope without having to switch paper. However, when I downloaded the app to print from my smartphone I don't find any way to print a small photo on a letter size sheet, it wants to use the whole sheet and if I select a small size it says I'm using the wrong tray.

Not All-In-One for iMac
on December 12, 2014

The fax module for managing faxes does NOT work for iMac. If this had been clearly stated I would not have bought it.
This product is not anywhere the quality and ease of use as my old Canon i850 but unfortunately that older printer is not compatible with the iMac.
At best I can fax 1 to maybe 4 sheets but you have to create your own cover page and you have no way to see the results and you have to send faxes via the printer panel. Good luck.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Outstanding personal printer
on December 12, 2014

Everything about the printer is high quality - it has all the features that I wanted in an all-in-one with capacity for my busy office environment. Initial ink cartridges were full capacity rather than the "intro" sizes that come in some competing printers. Print quality is very good, paper handling is outstanding. A great buy!

WF3640 Printer

As soon as the ink cartridges that came with the printer were used, and new Epson cartridges we installed, the printing was washed out and extremely poor. After some testing by phone with the Epson rep (which I had already done), they replaced the printer with a new one, and provided free return FedEx shipping.
Will set up this printer soon and hope it works fine this time. This is the first Epson printer I have had any trouble using.
