Two Epson Printers in One Year to be Returned
on April 27, 2015
Posted by: GlobalRoamer

This was my second Epson printer to try in one year.
At first it seemed it was working fine. Business paper in Tray 2, #10 Envelopes in Tray 1, and expensive thank you card stock in the rear tray. All worked well, print quality good. Noise is deafening.
When I tried to print a custom size envelope from the rear tray it ALWAYS prints in portrait mode. No matter what settings I use in MS Word and Yosemite Pages. Always portrait, following the Epson manual, always portrait.
Four weeks later, and 50 hours invested in fixing the problem, I am done.
The rear tray is critical to my needs. I will get an RMA and go from there.

My wf-3640 worked well printing for the first three months. Now there is a communication error between i-mac (10.9.5) and printer is not receiving the file. I have checked cable (and replaced) and re-downloaded the drivers. WHAT SHOULD I TRY NEXT

SET UP NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED
on June 10, 2015

The set up is confusing, (I have two of the 3640s) needs to be set up only for the Model 3640 and with out sell other products.
The set up disk, is not very well done, it should be able to do all that the 3640 will need to set it up.
Registration, is hard to find, the 3640 keeps asking for it so I had to go to default to start over again to
I wright instructions, this is not set up for a person that has never did this before. The set up disk is the worst I have seen, it should be redone so you do not have to go to the net to get this update for Mac it should got to the net as part of the set up.
The network set up, did not work the first time had to redo it because the Mac did not know what it was looking for

troubles but finally success

This is my third Epson WF-3640. The first two would streak pictures I wanted to print, or the pix would be cloudy. No! fix would work and I was ready to give up on the product but decided to give it one more try. So far, the pictures are crisp and clear with no streaks so I'm pleased at least for this past week when I had a marathon of pictures printing. (I make my own greeting cards using my own pictures.) Hope this keeps up!

Installation took all day

Now that it's installed, the printer seems to work fine. But what a drag it was to get hooked up! The written materials that came with the machine simply weren't adequate. Fortunately, I was able to get "coaching" by going, again and again, to the internet -- to understand what different expressions really meant, to download the drivers (My computer couldn't recognize the disk that came with the machine.) and to connect with my network. WAY TOO MUCH TROUBLE for such a simple office tool. Disappointing.

Great Printer for the Home Office Power User
on June 26, 2015

The Epson WorkForce WF-3640 printer is a great All-In-One for serious home office applications, with unmatched capabilities when you consider its price point. With dual paper trays, you can load paper specific to the tasks you encounter most. The printer also features a single-load paper feed in the back (ideal for special-use papers), multi-sheet feeder for the scanner/fax, as well as full-duplex paper handling in both scanning and printing modes. For documents, the print speed is outstanding, with Epson's Precision Core technology approaching laser-like levels of quality. Graphics and pictures come out with very good quality, but not at the level of Epson's dedicated photo printer line. Set-up to wireless and networked capabilities was quick and straight-forward and you can print from wireless devices (phones, tablets, etc.) as well as from the cloud. Finally, the printer features a very good color LCD to make printing from memory cards and USB sticks easy. The only con is a reported higher than average cost-per-page; although for most average users, this shouldn't be a real issue. I've only ever used Epson for my photography needs and couldn't be more happier selecting the WF-3640 for my new home business needs. With great features, a very good price and Epson's legendary print quality, the WF-3640 is hard to beat!

Have spoent over two hours trying to get my computer and my iPhone to connect with this printer and neither can. When I went to register product, I was told my serial number was invalid (which I checked over and over again.)
I printed a photograph from a SD Card and the picture had a blue tone and I cannot figure out how to resrt the color on this!
Very, very disappointed.
