Overkill performance, but lacking promised encryption support

The performance of the drive is nice (although I still have issues getting in the stated range), but it's much faster than the point where I'm able to tell a difference. What I am disappointed about is the last of the promised firmware update supporting eDrive encryption. This has been a feature on every spec sheet, but over 6 months after release Samsung still has not ETA or comment on when the firmware will be available.
The 850 EVO M.2 support eDrive, along with almost every other retail SSD Samsung sells, but their flagship product misses an otherwise a standard feature.
Pros: fast
Cons: edrive support mia, expensive
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Tested with performance software in a new system with windows 7 as the primary hard drive. Nothing else compares.
Pros: fast
Cons: finding drivers

My computer boots up in 12 seconds with this drive. Simple to install.

All I can say is that this drive is incredibly fast and stable. Had Windows 10 installed in 13 minutes from an UEFI USB flash drive, including drivers.A bit more expensive than a standard SSD per gigabyte, but worth every penny. When the drive becomes more standard and comes down a bit in price, there's no argument to not get one of these if your system supports it.
For those wondering about SSD durability, you can write 219GB/Day, every day, on them before you'll hit the 400TBW within the 5 year warranty on the drive.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, extremely fast

The Samsung 950 PRO M.2 has taken hard drive speed to another level. It is quite astounding how fast the transfer speeds are for both reading and writing. The addition of this has increased loading times for some applications from 10%-80%! That is incredible. Already having two Samsung SSD's running at Raid 0, this still out performs them in sheer speed and how fast it reacts to a command you may give it. I highly recommend this product to everyone even though they just started coming out. The future is now beginning for the hard drive.
Pros: Lightweight, extremely fast, easy to install, very small size
Cons: pricey side

I just purchased the Samsung 950 pro 256gb and its an incredible update to my 830 ssd. the form factor is tiny and install was super simple. its extremely fast with file transfers and I'm sure with future updates from windows and Samsung , itll be extremely fast gaming and general use as well.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, easy install
Cons: still a bit expensive
