Quiet, Attractive and Quite Dysfunctional!

I've had the LDT9965BD for several months now and quite frankly it's a constant annoyance. I love how quiet it is and it's attractive looking, but the rack system design is the worst of any appliance I've ever purchased anywhere. In an apparent attempt to create flexibility, they have designed the worst imaginable system for stacking dishes. The cheap plastic adjustable inserts in the main body of the dishwasher do not stay in place and frequently collapse when the dishes are loaded, forcing you to remove all of the dishes, reposition the tines and reload. The tines do not line up with each other - not even close in some instances - so that dishes do not line up uniformly. The foldable tines are anchored to plastic runners at the bottom that are not even with the fixed runners, causing the dishes to roll out of position repeatedly. The top "utility" tray is a good idea gone bad because there are so many fixed "pegs" in it that nothing will lay completely flat. Every day when I load this dishwasher is an exercise in frustration. I can't imagine that LG managers let this poorly designed appliance onto the market. Obviously they never tested it out for function.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this for about two months now and it works great. Cleans well but if you don't pack it just right it may leave food on the dishes, especially the stuff in the third drawer. I love the look of the black stainless.
Pros: Performance, Quality

DO NOT BUY!!!!

About 6months ago we remodeled our kitchen and brought all new LG appliances. This dishwasher has made my life miserable!!! Most cups dont fit on top rack, the 3rd top rack is usless, its too close to the top of the dishwasher and will only fit things that are flat. Lets NOT talk about the bottom rack with the "interchangeable" rows that don't stay locked into place. Its a headache to load bc anything with a little weight (i.e. pots or pans) collapses the rows and by the end of the cycle your dishes are everywhere :(. Most cycles are 3 hours or longer and many of dishes wont be clean. For the price you can find something more effective that uses less water and actually gets your dishes clean. If you are considering this model don't bother, you will find your self hand washing and using it as a dish drainer.

That doesn't sound right Ali Q. Sounds like we may need to perform some troubleshooting, when you are with the unit, please give us a ring at 1-800-243-0000 ^AC
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very quiet. I really like it, but have a few gripes. The bottom rack goes off track way too easily. The bottom rack prongs don’t stay in place... fall down easily. I am currently having service done due to the black stainless coating coming off. Wish it dried a little better. Pros are that it cleans well and is super quiet. Please make sure to not overload the soap dish or you get water leakage.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks good and easy to use and cleans well. Only concern is that the soap dispenser is difficult to keep closed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok so I'm old. While every other feature of this dishwasher is wonderful to me, (it cleans so well, is so very adaptable! and interior is stainless which makes it easy to clean when I have to) the lack of backlighting on the buttons at the top of the door is frustrating to me. Without a flashlight (even in broad daylight, due to the countertop casting shadow) I can't read the buttons to know which to press for what I've put inside. This to me is a flaw. The company could have backlit all, with brighter light for selected button. If they fixed this, I would be raving over how great this dishwasher is. As it is, make sure you have a flashlight if you're older than 30, or a light strip just at the counter level.
