Cleans Great but Poor Rack Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the black stainless finish. It looks sharp and the surface cleans easily. The dishwasher cleans the dishes nicer than any dishwasher I have ever had. I LOVE the extra rack in the top for knives or utensils. That is great feature. That said the rack for the glasses is a terrible design. It is flimsy and I have already broken several glasses. It is hard to load and the adjustable slots do not stay in position. I also find the lower rack to be flimsy. The adjustable racks fall down all the time. It is unfortunate that the shelves as substandard as this dishwasher cleans the dishes perfectly. I can't recommend this because of the poor quality racks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Granted, I only have it in operation for a few days and probably less than ten cycles (including my own DIY installation leak tests before handing it over to the wife), but so far it is excellent. Everything we hoped for. I've not had any issue other people wrote about tines and plates falling over. I will say that under a load the tines do feel a little less "solidly" fixed as it does in the store display, but not excessively loose; if I am careful, take a modicum of give-a-5h1t time to do it right, none of the tines / plates fall over in the wash. I'm not "babying" it, either - just taking time to stack carefully. Have not used the steam yet (no occasion to have-to) but have used the Quick and Normal cycles. The Normal uses about 2/3 or half less water than the Quick, but the Normal is about twice-three times as long as the Quick. Not sure yet my locality if electric or water consumption is more expensive, so... The flexibility with the lay-flat tines is AWESOME!!! I used to have to jerry-rig fit the pots and such onto fixed tines in my old dishwasher, and moving the vessel around so it actually sits flat around the tines used to mean I lost square inches of the lower rack due to dead space. Not anymore! With the selective lay-flat tines I can drop as many tines flat as I need, and keep up those tines I want to keep up, for maximum space utilization. The 3rd rack silverware tray(s) are great, too! I don't even use the conventional basket half the time anymore. To properly use the 3rd rack takes a little bit more time and effort than the olden days of simply dumping a mass of forks into a basket, but the time spent is well worth it. Racks are adjustable for height, too, but haven't had to employ that feature just yet. Dishes come out dry and clear (except plastics, but I NEVER had plastics ever come out dry no one that I've ever know. Happy. Would recommend. If this thing stays great I will probably not remember to come back and update this post, so if you never hear form me again than all is well. I'd probably only come back to edit/add a follow-on if it sux later on.

Worst Dishwasher of my Life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I regret ever purchasing this dishwasher and wish I could return it. It does a horrible job at washing the dishes so everything must be scrubbed off before I put it in, the tines that hold the dishes always fall, the rack for your glasses is designed at a weird angle so glasses don't fit and fall over and break (tried many types of glasses and none stay up), the energy rating I thought was great---until I found out that to get that they took out a heated drying cycle so your dishes have to air dry which I have to open the dishwasher to dry my dishes, the third rack doesn't clean any flatware I have put in it and is small that it doesn't hold anything else. The only good thing I can say about this dishwasher is that it is quiet---I'd take back my noisy one though for the job this one does.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] barely over 2 years old and the water pump is out once again. only appliance I have ever felt the need to purchase an extended warranty. Even that hasn't helped. Repairman here yesterday and this model has a unique pump....presently not able to find one on this continent. This is the THIRD pump in 2 years 2 months. Must be run on heavy duty cycle in order to clean satisfactorily. Very very dissatisfied . Feel LG should replace the unit as I gave premium price and have received less than premium performance. Has been inoperable now for 11 days and counting.

So bad we returned it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were very disappointed with this dishwasher. It performed much worse than the 15 year old dishwasher it was replacing. The dishes had to be pre-rinsed for anything to come clean. Tried various cycles/options, different soap. After three weeks we exchanged it for a different brand at the store, which was not easy because of having to uninstall it and reinstall a new one. However it performed so poorly we felt we couldn't keep it. We have a large family and run the dishwasher just about every day, so it's not like stuff was dried on for days.

Quitness and Rack usability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just bought this dishwasher and installed it 2 weeks ago. It is so quiet we don't even know if its running. My one real disappointment is the rack configuration. The top third rack is useless unless you use it for silverware, nothing else will fit with all the slotted allocations for silverware. We do not drink wine so the right side of the middle rack allocated for wine glasses is at such an angle other items do not set properly on it for cleaning. I HATE the adjustable prongs on the lower rack. They are always falling down and do not adequately support plates. I'm hoping, but doubtful that this dishwasher will last any where near the 21 years of the one we just replaced.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this to replace a 10year old Kitchen Aide dishwasher. Bottom rack is spaced for plates, for anything else you have to move racks and cut capacity by 40%. rack tines do fall but it is not too bad. Cleaning is just OK if not overloaded. In 1 year, I have not seen any value the steam feature adds to the cleaning. The real problem is the smell, this unit does not have a food grinder so you have to remove the screen and trap often and scrub with bleach to kill the sell. Don't forget the bottom of the trap, I have found funky mold growth on it. LG should pull the trap and add a grinder!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm writing this review after owning these appliances for over a year. I bought these because of there looks. And they look amazing. But if you plan on using them be prepared for the scratches. These scratch vary easy. And they look ugly. The performance is awesome but I am disappointed in who the look after a year. For what I paid for a suite of them I expected more.
