I bought this after my dentist recommended it. I bought the 5.0 system on black Friday because I don't normally justify spending $100 on something I will be tossing every 4 months. Eventhough, it was still a little spendy I bought it, and I am extremely glad that I did. This tool has made brushing and flossing a breeze. I have caps with gaps and the flosser makes getting my teeth clean so much easier and better than just brushing and flossing. The sonic toothbrush is just amazing with the three settings. My dentist spent less time cleaning my teeth, and when you have places to be, that is worth it. I just wish it was more affordable and that the replacement tools were easier to find.

My hygienist insisted that I purchase this as my gums were becoming worrisome and would need work. Ok, so I bought this and I'm not a happy camper. First of all, it is very LOUD which I do not find calming. The on/off switch is insanely tight making it difficult to start up. Then trying to manipulate is a fight as I want the spraying action in my teeth and not on the mirror.
A week after I purchased it, I had a large Cerec crown put in and was told that I could use the unit a few days after which I did. Wow, I thought my tooth was going to fall out and the bleeding was bad. I stopped using it for a few days, lowered the setting to '2' and the bleeding continued as well as pain. I had to go back to the dentist and he told me to use it when the bleeding stopped and to floss the old fashioned way.
Only time will tell if my gums and oral health will benefit when I see my hygienist next. But I'm not optimistic given my findings.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The combo of WaterPik and electric toothbrush in one convenient package is a real winner for me. Saves counter space big time. I use it more because it is so convenient. Teeth already look better after a few weeks of use.

I like the several options to us3 when brushing your teeth and the design of the handle and brush are easy for me to handle and use. Also I like the action provided for cleaning my teeth at the gum line with the water flossed.
