Happy until first malfunction in less than a year

Bought the dishwasher about 9 months ago. Have been happy with the unit until now. The main wash cover will no longer open and a small gray rubber gasket of some sort was hanging out of the lid edge when the malfunction started. Overall, I have been happy but this worries me that the quality and design may not be a long term winner. Now I have to call for warranty service (thank goodness if it was going to malfunction or break early it did it in the first year under warranty).

It is so easy to use and very quiet. I like the easy to use buttons on top of the door. It was easy to install.

Frigidaire Dishwasher FGID2474QB

We purchased this dishwasher based on a Consumer Reports review. It has proven to be the absolute worst appliance we have ever owned. There are many cycle options but none seem to resolve the issues with cleaning the dishes. The loading racks are poorly designed and are not stable as you slide them in and out. Obviously I do not recommend this model. Nothing against Frigidaire, but this is not a quality product in their line of appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your valuable thoughts with us, DishWaterHands. We do suggest to make sure the water temperature to the appliance is set between 120*-140*F. This is the minimum temperature range that the water supply must reach in order for the detergent to dissolve completely. Also, make sure the filter trap at the bottom of the unit is free of debris. If you are still seeing film and food particles on the dishes after checking your water supply, and cleaning the unit, please try changing detergent's to a gel or liquid detergent. Worst electronic purchase ever

I bought this dishwasher about one month ago. I installed it and I was able to run ONE load of dishes through it before it stopped working! We called Frigidaire and they tried to instruct us on how to fix it. The problem code on the face was a #1 which means nothing in the manual. We scheduled a repair man a week later. The repairman had personal issues so we had to reschedule for the following weekend. The repairman doesn't know what to replace because the circuit board is messed up and that it will take 14 days to get a new circuit board and then we have to reschedule an appointment after they receive the part. I'll never buy Frigidaire products again
