I bought this refrigerator in 2017 and 2021 SS finish start chipping off the front and in 2023 the compressor failed.

Nice refrigerator with minor quality problems

If you google search this refrigerator along with the key word "mullion" you will see that the mullion (a plastic flap that seals between the french doors) sometimes sticks when the doors are opened and as a result can get damaged when the doors are closed. The fix for this is to use either a stronger spring or to tighten the existing spring which moves the mullion.. LG really should issue a recall for this 15 cent spring and replace it.

Can't Control Temp.

Fans/compressor runs continually with high pitched whine.
With temp. set at 39, food stored in left lower bins freezes (temp there near 20).
Going to try replacing this unit.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This product is great! wish we had it when we had Children at home. We still entertain a lot and the dual ice makers are a life saver. have owned it only since March of 2012. No real time for problems but with preformance so far not expecting any. Would be nice if ice dispenser in door would allow you to get ice while the other door is open, and the hum of the compressor is a little loud but we are getting use to it. Purchased it on reputation of LG.
I would recommend this to a friend!

BEST REFRIGERATOR EVER MADE

We built this house 10 years ago and had builder appliances, what a MISTAKE! So far I've been thru 3 microwaves, 2 washers, 4th dishwasher and 2 refrigerators and its just me and my husband now days. I probably can't mention the brands but pick one and I had it, so this time I decided to go with LG appliances, since I love a bedroom LG tv we got on year. I LOVE THIS REFRIGERATOR! Its quiet , has great features and I really like the duel ice makers, I miss some of the side door shelving on the side by side but the inside of the LG is HUGE , I doubted the bending down to the freezer at our age but heck, its not bad at all! SO if your in for a new FRIG..do the LG's, Time for a new range also, I am going with the double oven LG in about a month or when the next big sale comes around. Clean up outside isn't bad either, just get some stainless steel spray and walla its DONE!
