- Quiet operation
- Good front panel display
- Great ice production - especially like the second ice maker in the lower freezer section
- Easy to access water filter.
- Good freezer layout and capacity.
- Feels solid. I expect this fridge to last a long time.

Cons:
- You really have to slam the doors for them to close. They're designed to not be accidentally left open a fraction of an inch unnoticed. But the mechanism requires too much force to overcome to get the doors and lower freezer drawer to close.
- The water dispenser in the door takes some getting used to. It's fine for the family now that we know what to expect, but house guests almost always end up with a puddle of water on the floor.
- Don't like that the drawers require both doors to be open to access them. The bottom drawer is the entire width of the unit, and the doors have to be open wide. The half-width drawers still need the opposite door open somewhat to clear it. Would have preferred losing a fraction of an inch of storage to open the drawer through one door.
- In general, not a fan of the french-door layout. I think this unit is as good or better than any french-door style, but I still miss my 20-year old side-by side. This one always feels cramped. I have to shove bottles in laying down. Never had to do that with the side-by-side.

Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with this unit. It's not perfect, but most of the flaws exist in all french door units. The LG is solid and should last a long time.

The Humming LG

A short time after purchasing the refrigerator we had the recommended service man out to check out why the refrigerator made so much noise. He told us it was the compressor and in changing it out it would probably make the same noise. We chose to deal with the noise. At times you can hear it 50 feet away while watching TV. The fact that you cannot get ice and open the other door at the same time is very aggravating. We also do not like that you cannot pull the individual vegetable trays out without opening both doors.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had the ice dispenser in the door quit making ice several times already. Have never had to call service just open ice maker door and remove/replace ice bin to reset. Not a huge deal but feel I really shouldn't have to do that at all on a 1+ yr old fridge/freezer. Hopefully no major problems long term.

Quiet and efficient!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a quiet and efficient refrigerator. We love all of the room that it has in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments. It makes ice quickly using the ice plus feature on the door of the refrigerator. We also love the black stainless steel color. It goes with our other stainless steel appliances.
