Purchased four years ago. The finish is some sort of cheap "wrap" (vinyl, perhaps) which scratched and began peeling off two weeks after delivery. Now, the compressor went out after four years. The compressor was under warranty but the labor was not. The repair was not impressed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We took our time and consideration of the appliances features along with reviews on each. Our decision came down to LG and it was the right decision. We love all the features of our LG French Door Refrigerator, especially the filter water and ice dispenser. Having the freezer compartment at the bottom is the only way to go. This positions all the refrigerated items at eye level and easy to reach. Our satisfaction goes beyond just the style and convenience of our LG selection. What’s most important is the quality and level of customer service after the purchase. We can say LG Customer Service is “Customer First” ! We experienced the best communication and follow up from our LG Customer Service and it Technician as it left us with the confidence we made the correct decision on the LG Kitchen Appliances. Don’t purchase!

We selected this because it fit our space and, as a nice incentive, two ice makers. Wow, what a disappointment. The main ice maker is awful. The ice freezes in shoot to expel the ice , builds up and clogs the unit. So much for the convenience of having ice dispense out of the door into a glass. Stay away and do your research, or get stuck with a lemon like we did

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG Frig repair 2 weeks earlier to replace the dead frig compressor and update the software defect (which caused the compressor deterioration) had started to leak freon at compression fittings which were required to be used by the tech as part of LG Field Support Standard Operating Practices.
The same Tech was allowed to replace the compressor a second time and sweat (weld) the High side and suction line fittings in place of using compression fittings again.

Peels and ice gets stuck

This refrigerator is 7 years old and has been good value. This month we required repair of the in-door icemaker, the freezer fan motor, and the compressor and control board. LG provided the compressor and control board parts quickly without charge, and the other parts and total installation was less than 1/3 of the cost of replacing it. Therefore, we've been satisfied.
