I bought this as a set when we moved into our home. I have had nothing but trouble from the start. It has made about 1 handful of ice. It freezes up in the back of the refrigerator and I have to move all my food and DEFROST my refrigerator.

Have had issues with it since day one. Ice maker needed to be replaced. Major issue is that the system used to cool and evaporate water does not work well. Long story short I have to pull out the bottom drawer and remove water on a weekly basis.

Keeps cool, many broken parts
on July 30, 2023

We bought this refrigerator several years ago. It still keep items cool and frozen- we've never had an issue there. However, within the first year, the freezer door handle popped off, the bottom pull-out drawer of the fridge cracked, and the right-side door shelf broke off. Also the bottom pull-out drawer get stuck so easily and gets off track when pulling it out and pushing it back in. After about 1.5 years, the ice maker completely stopped working despite our troubleshooting to fix it (I am finally on this site looking for a complete replacement for the ice maker). The bottom pull-out drawer is pretty much cracked all the way in half, and the right-side door shelf has been glued back together 4 times. Not super impressed with this refrigerator or samsung house appliances in general (we have a couple others).

Avoid if you can

Samsung refrigerators have a major design flaw that causes the condenser pan drain in the back of the fridge to get blocked due to ice buildup and insufficient heating. This causes condensation to build up and then freeze around the condenser which can cause two problems: 1. as the ice melts and is unable to drain it will leak into the crisper drawers and bottom of the fridge cabinet which will then freeze due to proximity to the freezer drawer and 2. ice buildup around the fan may prevent the fan from spinning which then prevents cold air from circulating and the fridge won't be able to stay cool.
Samsung does not want to provide a fix. There are DIY videos on the internet explaining how you can fix the problems yourself but they are temporary in nature. The only permanent solution is to get a new refrigerator or avoid buying Samsung altogether.

Ice Maker's the worst design with no way to repair
on September 20, 2023
Posted by: DomC
I purchased a home in December 2022 and was happy that it came with all brand new Samsung appliances, however during the pre purchase inspection, the inspector commented the Samsung Model RF263BEAEWW french door refrigerator was not making ice and explained these models were prone to all sorts of problems and even thought there might be a recall on it. Afterwards I discovered the problem was the ice maker was frozen so I chipped at it slowly until it was clean and it worked good for about two weeks. Then when it stopped I checked and it was frozen again, so I repeated the process. Fast forward almost 9 months later and I've been chipping the ice every two weeks and tried every remedy I could find on line to no avail. I am frustrated that I can't even find any service company to come and look at it because when I tell them what model I have they say it would be cheaper to replace than repair. I finally shut the ice maker off a month ago and have been buying bags of ice from the supermarket and keeping them in the freezer. Both my wife and I work outdoors at a local park, and with the record heat in Florida we drink a lot of water and use a lot of ice. The house also came with a stacked Samsung washer and dryer,. The washer broke within the first few months of use with a bad drum and again we were told it would be cheaper to replace than repair, but found there was no Samsung washer model that matched the existing dryer so I had to spend $2000 and replace them both with LG's. All the appliances in the home are Samsung and looked almost new when we moved in. The stove and dishwasher were never used, and both seem to work fine, but after my experience with the refrigerator and washer I'm so turned off by the quality of Samsung products I'm considering replacing the refrigerator with another brand, possibly LG or GE. Now I really glad I own an i-phone, who knows what would happen if I had a Samsung Galaxy!
