Sleek look and well functioning

I remodeled my kitchen and purchased a new microwave and oven, both GE Café series. So far I am very happy with the microwave although I wish that the handle were a better quality and more substantial.

Efficient microwave

The microwave does everything you expect it to do. The operation buttons are easy and intuitive to use. The major change I'd make would be to allow the user to set "Time Cook" to any number of seconds rather than having to choose a time in 15 second intervals, push the button, start the countdown then adjust the dial to the seconds desired.

Great microwave. Sleek, modern look

I bought this microwave with the GE cafe set for my kitchen remodel. The microwave works great, as expected. Looks modern and sleek. Heats food great, convention bake option is interesting although we still use the beast of a stove.
No really complaints aside from minor ones. The microwave is so powerful it needed its own electrical source - so make sure you have an outlet dedicated to it. Also the handle is NOT stainless steel. It is like a big sticker that wraps around the handle to look like stainless steel. Nobody will ever know unless they touch it. Also the sucker is heavy - the price you pay for a great microwave!

The touch screen on our last microwave did not work, so we needed to purchase a new microwave that went with our other GE cafe appliances. While this microwave was very pricey, it is remarkable. I was unsure about the dial on the touch pad, but the time it allows you to put on it seems to be perfect for whatever you are doing. The microwave heats more evenly than any other microwave I have used.

Great features but has design problems

Love the cooking features of this microwave just not the design of the door handle. After one month the metal coating on the handle started to peel off due to the heat from the burner below. I called GE and the service man came and replaced the door. He said this has been an on-going problem and it will probably happen again. As long as I have a warranty I will keep replacing it. For such an expensive product it is very cheaply made.
