GE Cafe Series Microwave

The handle on my GE Cafe Series Microwave is pealing and coming apart at the seam. Unfortunately, the same thing happened to my neighbor and they had to replace the entire door as the handle cannot be removed. Is there a remedy?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good microwave very loud when closing door

Did not end up using convection feature as much as I thought I would. Nice looking microwave, but not happy with how loud microwave door is when closing.

Disappointed about the lack of clock display. Seems funny I can program a nightlite to be on 24/7, but I can't have the time of day. Just installed. Baked cookies and they were cooked perfectly.

Poor Replacement of Prior Model

I purchased this as a replacement to an earlier GE Cafe over the range microwave which I bought 8 years ago and required two repairs to the LCD control panel. That model must have had an LCD flaw because it broke theee times bad now GE has replaced it with something even worse.
It's bad enough that this new model uses cheap plastic components for the door handle and frame (original was metal) and fake stainless steel vaneer instead of real. The worst thing about it though is how poorly it cooks. The wattage is the same as the prior model but it now takes twice as long to reheat things. It is also horrendous at defrosting things on a lower power setting. The old model worked perfectly on power setting two or three for 30-60 seconds. What you took out wasn't hot, it was no longer frozen. With this new model using the same power setting and time for the same food item and the middle is still frozen solid while the outer part is steaming hot.
I'm very disappointed with this microwave. Don't waste your money. If I didn't already have the Cafe range and oven I would have returned and purchased something else. Instead I get worse quality for more money.

Love the Convection Oven

My family uses the convection oven feature almost every night. It is just as good as a regular oven, and uses less electricity.

This has exceeded my expectations. A long way from what I grew up with. We barely use our oven- and our oven is a sweet convection oven that we spent a lot of time researching.
I would recommend this to a friend!
