Convection Oven/Microwave

I bought this is in August and I always wanted a combination convection/microwave. It did not come with a cookbook and I still haven't used the convection oven yet. It also does time cook in 15 second increments If I wanted 25 seconds I would not be able to put that in. I would have to do 30 seconds and take item out 5 seconds early. That means I would have to stay by the microwave to stop oven 5 seconds early. This can be a real pain.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this very expensive microwave because it matched the stove I bought. the microwave works fine, like any other microwave.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Complaints: One must change the glass turntable to metral wnen baking. This constant change is annoying. Beep at end of cooking time to soft in volume to hear unless you are in front of unit. Difficult finding the correct button to push since the control paned is blacked out until a button is depressed than all buttons light up.
Great outside fan. Unit cooks well as well as microwave.
Question.... In the ceiling it appears to have two quartz broil lamps only one lights....is this correct or a maulfunction?????

handle melting

I just replaced my microwave to match the other appliances that were damaged due to Super Storm Sandy. I should have kept the old microwave. It would look better than this one with the melting handle.

Paid premium for this microwave, but the quality of build materials super cheap. Microwave installed 20" above the range and after 2 month the plastic handle covered by foil just pilled off make this microwave worth not more than $20. Yes it will be replaced by warranty no problem with the same foiled cheap plastic handle. I hope one day GE will review their product quality.

Great Features. Inferior plastic door handle

I bought this GE Café Series a week before Thanksgiving in 2014. I love the microwave feature and the two shelves for convection baking. The finish on the handle has peeled off as it is plastic with a laminate contact paper over silver foil. I am trying to get this replaced. If the handle was solid plastic or stainless it would be much better. I believe at this price point it should be stainless.
I would recommend this to a friend!
