Ice Maker repeatedly gets frozen and quits making ice

Purchased this refrigerator in 2016 and was very happy with it at the time. Then we started to have trouble with our icemaker not working. We have had to call the repair company to get the ice machine working a few times. Also, water is always leaking from the ice maker and leaks inside the refrigerator.
I am concerned because the repairs only provide a temporary fix and the refrigerator is only two years old. It is unacceptable to have a new appliance in this condition. This seems to be a design flaw that causes ice melting then freezing up the dispenser.
Disappointed in our purchase and would like to return it, but cant.
Pros: looks nice
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't Buy If You Want Ice

We were very happy with this fridge. It worked fine the first 2 years then we started getting frost build up in the icemaker. Next when you put your glass under the dispenser for ice you would get a bath as melted ice ran out the flap door.
After looking online I saw this was a common problem. I defrosted the icemaker and it worked for a few days then same issue again. After several defrost it stop making ice all together. If I hit the reset button it will dump ice then will chime a few minutes later and stop working. So apparently if I want ice I have to hit the reset button each time to get it to dump. Really Samsung? I should not be having this issue with a fridge that is less than 4 years old. This is a design defect that is affecting lots of consumers. Samsung should recall the icemaker and make it right.
I will definitely avoid Samsung appliances in the future. I think they need to stick to electronics.
Cons: Poor quality

Ice maker

I'm not sure why only now it comes out in reviews (exactly a year since purchase so no longer under the warranty) that the ice maker is leaking water into the ice tray chamber causing it all to freeze over the mechanism that dispenses the ice. Currently have it on ice maker off so I don't have to defreeze it each time and cleaning up a huge mess. That much for the ice and water in the door feature...
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nothing but Problems

We bought this fridge in 2014 and it has been nothing but a headache. It's more than just problems with the icemaker - the inner guts of the fridge easily get covered with ice. This causes all kinds of very loud noises and after a certain amount of time, the temperature regulator will not work right. Appliance repairmen have to take everything apart and de-ice it. Then it works fine for awhile ---until the ice builds up again. Apparently there is no fix for this as it keeps happening over and over. As one positive, I do really like the design of the door-in-a-door. I have looked at other fridges out there and so far no one makes one like this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Refrigerator

Extremely happy with my new fridge ! Tons of storage room and so easy to actually see what is in the refrigerator. Lots of storage space on the doors. Love the convenience of being able to adjust the height of all the shelves and the sliding shelf for tall items. Freezer with upper drawer make it easy to organize. Only thing that would be better is more ice...we use lotsa ice :)

I love my Samsung Fridge

This fridge is beautiful. It has all of the features I wanted. I love the french door design and the stainless steel finish. I also love the interior lighting. There's plenty of room both in the fridge and the bottom freezer for all of my food and drinks. I also love the small convenience door (which I call the peek-a-boo door). I don't have to open the big doors all the way to get to the small stuff, and that saves energy with it's "metal cooling" interior door surface.
If there was any complaint it would be that due to its size the compressor hum is a bit louder than smaller refrigerators. I just wish there was some sort of sound dampening around the motor. Otherwise, it's a wonderful piece of technology and I love it. Kudos to Samsung!
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, beautiful design, stainless steel, roomy, great interior lighting
Cons: compressor hum

The Best Refrigerator I have ever owned!

I did a lot of checking out of refrigerators before deciding on buying this one. I checked out the Internet and then went to all the stores to physically look at and see the products. This one has the best design. It is amazing how much we are enjoying using it. I can see everything so easy now. No wasting of food because I thought I needed something and then would buy another only to find that I already had bought it before . The lighting is awesome and so much space. The price was fair compared to all the other ones that I checked out. I was worried about the bottom freezer but it is so easy to access and also as I wrote, can see everything .
Love the wide open space, adjustable shelves, cool drawers, I could go on and on.
We all are so happy with our new refrigerator. This is the one!!!!!!!!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Inexpensive, stainless steel easy to wipe and clean
I would recommend this to a friend!
