Great Fridge, Terrible Ice Maker

We’ve had this refrigerator for nearly two years now. We love the storage space, the versatility in adjusting shelves and drawers, the door-in-door, and the water and ice through the door. The downside is the ice maker. We use it daily, but the ice gets jammed up before it falls into the bin and we have to break it up at least once every two weeks. Of course, the ice maker started failing when we were just out of warranty.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do you really have to turn off the water

Do you really have to turn off the water to change out the water filter? With my old Samsung, very similar to this one, the filter was in the back top shelf and just twist it out and twist in the new one. A few drips on the shelf but didn't have to pull the whole thing out from the wall to turn off the water.

Have owned this unit for years. The biggest problem is how the icemaker has ice build up around the cube tray.
The water filter change causing me having to have a new water filter housing installed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice Fridge until warranty expires then the ice maker will start freezing up and ice will no longer come out. This is a known problem yet Samsung fails to help its customers with this problem which has led to a class action lawsuit against samsung because of the ice maker. Beware.

Ice maker junk

I bought this fridge in 2015 and was wonderful UNTIL the piece of junk of an ice maker started freezing up. Now it freezes up and I have to defrost it often. Also the outside dispenser leaks water that is coming from the ice maker. I think I would NEVER buy another fridge that has the icemaker within the refrigerator.....it should be in the freezer......I may never buy another Samsung again!!!

Good til it isn’t.

Worked fine for a year or so, but this model’s fan gets iced up due to a design defect. I cleared the ice and it ran again for a couple of months before the ice built back up. It’s a terrible design, and apparently this is a problem for all fridges of this model. Don’t waste your time or money.

Subpar water and ice dispenser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] fridge is very efficient and works well except the water and ice dispenser which is awkward to use and ice flies all over while dispensing.

Using the ice Dispenser
Place a glass underneath the ice dispenser and push gently against the dispenser lever with your glass.
***Make sure the glass is in line with the dispenser to prevent the ice from bouncing out.***
