Ice maker really never worked well

ever since we bought model rf28hdeddbsr/aa the ice maker has frozen over. while under warranty we had it repaired a couple of times. now it is a costly repair. samsung knows the icemakers on this model are bad yet they never came up with a fix and recall. won't buy samsung again.

Ice maker does not work

love the refrigerator, but, the ice maker freezes up and samsung knowes there is a problem and does not take care of the problem. i can not see me buying another samsung appliance again

Worst purchase of my life

We purchased this refrigerator in 2014 or 2015. It worked fine for a while well past any warranty period. We loved the features and the special front door. Then the ice maker started to freeze over. Then the inside of the fridge stopped cooling because the cooling element in the back froze over. Since that started, we have had to defrost the inner workings of our fridge 3 times.
Worst design I’ve ever seen. It should be criminal how these terrible refrigerators are still the dominant brand in so many big box retail stores. Truly awful products.
I warn friends to stick to Samsung TVs and phones only please. Samsung appliances are overpriced garbage. So disappointed.

Not a good unit for this price

This is one of the worst refrigerators I’ve owned. The rear panel freezes and ice reaches the fan which stops the unit from working.

Overall it’s good . If I didn’t have to fight with the ICE MAKER . The tray would get stuck because a block of ice would prevent it from coming out . Eventually I could see that ice block would just grow with time .

Avoid like the plague.

The ice maker stopped working out of warranty and Samsung didn't want to fix it despite being a known manufacturing issue that resulted in a class action lawsuit. We replaced it with a newer model with a different kind of ice maker that had a similar issue out of warranty yet is not part of said lawsuit. Done with Samsung, they claim they make quality appliances but ours have been anything but.
