Set it up. Connect cables. Power it up. Sit back and enjoy. It's that simple. And the sound is excellent. I have Sony TV 52", Sony Blu-Ray and now the Sony HTXT1 along with Directv. It's a Happy New Year!
Just right for our bedroom samsung smart tv. Gives you the extra clear sound but not thumpy loud base. You can also pair it with cox remote so you don,t have to use two remotes to work volume and tv. Also can play smart phone music on it

I wanted a considerably better sound for my 40-inch Sony high-def television, but did not need or want a full scale home theater system. I had looked at a number of sound bars, especially Sony's, but given the size and make-up of my living room, even they looked a bit much, with their sub-woofers to place. Then came this single piece, with a built-in sub-woofer and capable of supporting the television. I got it, installed it, and have been quite happy with it in the two months I've had it. Sounds of all sorts -- music, talk, motors, gunfire, street noise, the rustle of wind in trees -- all come out far more crisply than ever before, making any program more enjoyable, whether the source is the TV itself or the Blu-ray player attached to it. Two occasional but minor annoyances: Sometimes speech is ever so slightly out of sync with the picture; there's a button for handling that, but I can't tell it helps much. And sometimes the bass actually sounds a little boomy, even though I've dialed it down in the settings (that may reflect the programming source, not the sound bar). But as I said, these are only occasional annoyances -- most of the time I'm reveling in being able to enjoy the vastly improved sound. In fact, I wish Sony would add a stepped-up version of this unit by stuffing an AM/FM/HD radio into it and, maybe, even building in a Blu-ray player. If Sony does that, I'll buy it, put it in my living room and move the other one back to the bedroom.

Good but no audio out for Sony Wireless Headphones

Bass is good, only minus is no audio out! Has HDMI out, but no good for the cool Sony Wireless Headphones which have Optical In and Anolog In.
Got this to put at my GF place as I didn't want a full HT system with all the wires all over the place and was deciding on getting a sound bar but after some research I stumbled on Sony HTXT1 and I am glad I did cause it is the best buy I made for 2014 after my PS4... :) This is a must have.
