A regular sound bar would block the infared sensor on my tv so this was perfect for me. It has lots of features and the sound is great.

Best Purchase Decision Made

Ordered this product online as a Christmas Gift for myself and I am glad that I got this SoundBase. The sound fills the room and love how it sounds. I really like that this sound base can be hooked up using HDMI and can use 3 devices to connect to the TV. Also really like playing music from my Blackberry via Bluetooth. Thank you Sony for creating a great product. Highly recommended !!!!

It Solved My Problem

We use what was once a small bedroom as our TV room. The entertainment center containing a 32" Samsung HDTV, a Samsung BR Player/Media Streamer, and Comcast Cable Receiver sit in a recessed area of the room. The TV sound was less than satisfactory since the TV speakers are on its sides and the entertainment center seemed to absorb the sound. My wife has experienced some hearing loss and she needed the sound at a level that was uncomfortable for me. This sound bar solved the problem.
The sound bar is sturdy, and well engineered. I used the sound bar as the base for the TV. I used the optical audio out connection (cable included) from my TV to the sound bar, and the HDMI from the BR Player/Streamer to the Sound bar HDMI In connector. My cable receiver is not HDMI (ARC) compatible so this is not the optimal setup, but its very good as is.
The sound is more than enough to fill our small room. It is a 2.1 system so you don't really experience full surround sound and audiophiles would be critical. But on some BR movies, or streaming movies or music, the sound bar can rattle your teeth. The remote is easy to understand and use, though small and compact. My wife really doesn't use it at all, only adjusting the volume with the cable remote. Best of all, we can sit in the same room and watch TV together without fighting over the volume control.

Nice Soundbar

This is a great soundbar. The sound is excellent. I have listened to music, watched movies and tv and played on my PS4. All of which the sound is clear and the bass is strong. It gets plenty loud for my small condo living room/kitchen area. I have tried the bluetooth feature with my iPhone 5 and had no dropouts or problems. I like the convenience of HDMI inputs and the fact that it takes DTS HDMA and Dobly's high def codec too. Overall I am pleased with the quality of the build and the quality of the sound. The surround effect is pretty weak, however.

I Love My Home Theater System

I bought my Sony Home Theater System with major hesitation. Simply because I was worried I'd hate it. BOY WAS I WRONG! I watched the Harry Potter series for the first time with this system and it did the job right. I can connect my iPhone and other Apple products to the home theater system and it makes me feel like I have an entire system around my apartment, not just one speaker. This system is amazing. Thank you, Sony!
