Much better than the lousy TV speakers

The sound is much better than the speakers on the TV. Our 42" TV is in a room with a high ceiling. The sound would be garbled from the TV. The Sony sound platform really improved the sound quality. It is probably not as good as a soundbar with a separate subwoofer but it looks better and definitely has improved our listening experience.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great looking, slim, easy setup, amazing sound with many options for listening enjoyment.
Voice settings 1 thru 3, able to control amount of background sound, it's easier to hear voices over sound effects when using setting 3.
No comparison, blows away the overpriced Bose solo.

Good all around system

the Sony sound plate is a good all around system. great full sound and deep bass that sounds just right but you have to find the right settings that you would enjoy. the subwoofer should not be to high where the sound would crackle ie: keep it between 4- or 9 and play around with the other settings until you get the sound you like. Once you achieve that it sounds great you hear every little thing that goes on either watching a movie or playing a Video game. it sounds great for playing music you can attach your smart phone via Bluetooth to stream your music! Its a great purchase!

Wonderfully inegrated sound stand

It is perfect for clear and full sound. I wanted an integrated, plug and play, full sound solution to my Sony XBR ultraHD set. I needed clearer sound for voices. I wanted it to work with the TV sound settings. It does both. I would buy this again. Note, it has a big, clear, sound, but it's not really a sourround system. It suits my condo living room well and is clear and full at all volumes, even with the 'night' setting turned on.

Excellent space-saving option

Exactly what I was looking for. I have a small Toshiba television with awful sound quality and have had to use a separate sound system to control the audio. I had a receiver setup, but it was quite a hassle to do all the switching and some of the audio channels were'nt coming through.
This Sony sound device setup in a snap, it handles all the switching for my cable box/television and the Blu-ray player. My tablet paired instantly with the NFC link.
Sound A+ for what it is. Separate subwoofer volume from the main volume. The front dislay is simple, but it shows what device is being played. Voice controls, HDMI passthrough. Honestly, it's a pretty well designed sound bar that didn't require my electrician to do the wiring. It exceeds my expectations for a very fair price.

Phenomenal sound!

Three weeks into owning this stunning sound platform and all I can say is "how did SONY do it?" This device far exceeded my expectations in every way. It easily supports the weight of my 52" TV. It delivers a multitude of sound choices that are pre-programmed into the slick remote.
I was having a difficult time hearing dialogue via my TV speakers or a Vizio sound bar. Now it's like I can really hear again thanks to the many adjustments available for this system.
Great bass, nice tonal separation between sound effects and the spoken word. If you're having problems discerning the spoken word while watching TV this unit does the trick. I have no regrets in deciding on SONY!

Good Sound sytem for TV

This sound system is a good option to use with a large screen TV.
The quality is very good and the set up was easy. The options that are provided give you a chance to customize the sound to your needs. A nice product.

Good product, would prefer more realistic bass

Sounds good but needs better sounding bass. It is superb at bringing out the dialogue in programs where it was hard to hear through just the TV speakers. I was interested in something that would also sound good for music. This missed the mark there. If you only want it for TV, then this is perfect. If you want it for music, look for something else.
