I can quietly read my notifications at work or at a theatre. I can track my steps using the pedometer. This is really a great device! Just wish it had more features...
Eh... doesn't need to be sold as a fit companion - more distance tracking..

The concept is really cool. BUT... unless you are walking, cycling, hiking, or running the "fit" part doesn't really do you any good (these are the only choices of exercise you can choose from). I was excited to check this out, but was skeptical since no one that sold it to me could answer anything about the heart rate monitor. I workout and take classes at the gym. I was hoping to replace my heart rate monitor chest strap. It doesn't replace it. So, while I'd hoped it would count my calories burned, it did not. As a matter of fact, it counted 1 calorie every way I tried to use it. I tried it on all choices (run, walk, etc.). If it truly is reading my heart rate, I would think it would count the calories. HERE IS MY DISCLAIMER: I am not familiar with the "technical" side of the equipment, so I could be mistaken... BUT... it seems that if you are traveling (walking, running, etc.) it does not utilize your heart rate to count calories... OR maybe it doesn't initiate the heart rate monitor unless you are traveling? I don't know.
As far as the notifications... text, FB, email, etc... It was neat, but that as about it. If you really needed to be notified that you have incoming items, it would be great. If you are using it to be able to check your messages, etc., discreetly, good luck. It's still pretty obvious that you are looking at something; difference is, instead of your lap, it's your wrist. One problem though most of the time I could not feel the vibration alert. I never found a way to increase or decrease the strength of the notification.
I hate to sound so negative but I just wasn't thrilled. The "idea" of it is great, but it just lacks in follow through. If had done just a bit more, I would have kept it. I just felt that I couldn’t justify the expense for something that I used more of as a watch. I think I'll wait to see what else happens in the techy gear fit watch arena a little longer.
WIth much heartache, I returned it.
Pros: Bright display, Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations, did not count calories for gym workout, no control over vibration strength/ notification
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had this unit for about 2 weeks now and for what I needed this fits the bill. Pros, the design is great..I dig ditches and work in the water field so this unit compliments what I needed it for because I measure heart rate back and run daily... cons, the unit needs more functions. ..when I run it monitors my heart rate so it would be nice if I could set it to monitor my heart rate when I want it too, also there are limited apps for the new unit as expected but I'm hopeful that will change soon. I like the unit though and am very optimistic about its future.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: minimal apps
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love my watch and would have given 5 stars on all categories but I have a Samsung Mega 6.3 that it will not sync with, when I purchased the watch I had done some research and seen that it listed the Mega 6.3 to be one of the phones that it was compatible with, but it wil not sync with my phone at all.
I like how it looks and that i can snooze my alarm from it. I like that i can jog and change songs without having to take my phone off my armband. I especially like that i can read texts from my watch but after one text, if you don't open it, the next message just says click to view but it doesn't allow you to click anything and you basically have to get your phone out to see the message. That gets annoying. The pedometer is great. The exercise (running) tracker is way off.. I've had it on while running 5ks and the time is right but the distance is never correct. I wish I could sync it up to my running app. This product could be so much better if they could just fix the little kinks.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, battery life is pretty long
Cons: Did not meet expectations, doesn't open all messages, distance isn't measured correctly, charger dock is really small and easy to lose
I would recommend this to a friend!

Device does everything they claim, but all the chrome is flaking off the display bezel and the wrist band pins. Device is not very durable for "Fitness" use.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cool gadget but needs work

Just got 2 of these and while it's ultimately a cool gadget there are some bugs.
1. The manual shows features that are non existent example would be Auto Sleep Mode...not a function on the device. 2. The app S Heath shows the temperature in Celsius even though it's set to F. 3. S Health has no way to set weight goals (I'm coming from a Fitbit) i.e. I weight 180 and want to drop 10 lbs. Based on my 1 lb a week goal what is my calorie intake? You can set the calories but it's not really intuitive. I like the Fitbit where it says "Hey, you have 500 calories left...unless you exercise! Then you can eat ice cream" (OK I mad that up but it does say intake and burn and shows the budget).
I realize that this is ranting about the app and the device but I view this as an eco system that should all work together flawlessly.
This is a cool "gadget" but not great
Pros: cool gadget
Cons: Did not meet expectations, needs better partner app, no web site log like others
