The gear fit is a useful tool helping my to be more aware of my inability to get moving. Since purchasing the Gear Fit I can monitor my daily activities and get moving when I don't meet or pass my daily goal.
There are some features I wish were added to the Gear Fit, but overall I am satisfied with it main function and that is to get me moving, into a healthier lifestyle.

Cons: difficult looking at the screen sometimes.

I was excited to receive this for Christmas from my boyfriend until I started reading the manual. You have to have a smart phone in order to use it. I don't like being pressured into purchasing a smartphone in order to use this product. I would like to download it to a tablet or laptop. I think companies should have apps for the computers and tablets also. I can thank my boyfriend for a beautiful thoughtful gift but I can't use it .
I also received a new samsung camera with wi-fi which I can't download pics to my computer or table, only to a smartphone...yet again don't want to forced to purchase a smartphone. At least the camera I can use with a memory card.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Gear that is NOT useable

I was stoked when my wife gave me this for the Christmas.
Then utter despair slipped in when I realized the included band was WAY too SMALL. Looking in the store there seam to be no larger bands and the larger one Samsung used to offer is no longer on their store.
I am not a fat man but I am taller and have larger bone structure than children. Since I can not wear the tech, I can not evaluate its potential and thus my experience with your unit is 1 (one) star.
I fear I will be returning this to the store as it is technology not every human of most races and ethnic origin can use.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, fits children or small wrist people only

Really great, on small flaw

So I got this Gear Fit. I love all of its features. The only flaw it has, is that when my new Galaxy s6 came in, I had to wipe the memory of the Gear Fit in order to connect it to the new phone. I've been a huge fan of Samsung for a very long time and am overall happy with it, however, if it had been a few months since I'd had the Gear Fit, I would have been much more upset!
Pros: Inexpensive, Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, pedometer, heart rate monitor

great fitness band/watch

This smart watch works great for me. Not only is it small and narrow, but it looks very sleek. Being a girl, it' s important for me not to have a big bulky watch. It fits snugly on my wrist. I can choose different modes for the display. You can change the background or upload your own picture. It's little bit tricky, since the display is narrow and long but I am pretty sure you can find the right picture. The only thing I hate about it though, is that when I have the main display with digital clock and weather channel, it shows my picture underneath. It may sound crazy but I do not want people to stare at my photo every time I twist my wrist. So, I changed the main display to the sleek watch design that lights up every time I move my hand. And have my photo on the remainder screens. You can also download other watch designes if you are not happy with the preloaded ones. The functions are great for my needs. I can do my exercise stuff with the fitness apps. On the smart watch side, it' s basic but I love it. It lets me know if somebody is calling, I receive text messages, email and other apps notification I choose from the menu. Yes, I can not answer the call, nor text back, but that's why I have the phone. I do not need another phone on my hand. It' s more like a tool for me to decide whether it' s worth to try to dig up my phone from my bag or not. You have to be connected through Bluetooth to receive the notifications and be within range of your phone, but how many times do you actually leave the house without your phone? I also love the media controller. I do not have Bluetooth in my car so I always plug my phone trough the aux in. So, when I want to change song I have to go to the phone which is upsetting and dangerous. But now I just change the song on my new smart watch! Another app I like is the timer which comes very handy when I cook.
