My Gear Fit works great, I enjoy all the features that it has. It is easy to use and understand, I am not that up on cellphones and computers but this is real simple to use.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: band is hard to put on

I have been searching for quite awhile for a strapless heart rate monitor and something that will track my steps, running and calories burned during exercise. I had REALLY high hopes for the Gear fit but it is missing one crucial feature....you can't track your heart rate or calories burned during stationary exercise! What the heck! I teach Yoga and Pilates and really like to see how many calories I have burned. Unfortunately this is where the Gear fit falls short. Seems like a simple fix...Hint Hint Samsung! If this feature were added I would give it 5 stars as the rest of the functions are fabulous! Steps seem pretty accurate, same with heart rate. I love that I can see text messages and emails without having to look at my phone. Overall great product...just needs a few enhancements and it will be top notch!

The Gear Fit is an excellent option for a fitness band. It tracks my steps, logs my bike rides, and keeps up with my run. I do wish that it worked with the built in S-Health on my Note 3, downloading another app to take up space on my phone wasnt ideal but Fitness with Gear is growing on me.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight

minimalist fitness tracker

This unit can be laggy and slow to respond to touch. I set it for running and it just stopped at 17:55 out of a 43 minute run. It seems to have a hard time with monitoring heart rate unless you are perfectly still. In addition, though I wipe it and clean it daily when I take my shower, and no I don't shower with it on, the plastic retaining pins have already flaked off the outer silver and are presenting red and have gotten rougher, sometimes irritating my wrist. On the upside, I get 3-4 days on a single charge with the pedometer on full time and it integrates nicely with my s5. If it wasn't for my s5, I would return it.
Btw, I've only owned the device for 20 days.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight, nice sleep monitor
Cons: buggy, physically irritating
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I went in looking at FitBit but after talking to someone who had this instead (she has multiple Samsung products), I chose the Gear Fit to go along with my Galaxy S4 smartphone. I love that I don't have to wear a watch AND this device. Someone commented today that they liked my new bracelet. And I LOVE that its able to control my music.
