Great device, but...

I have had this for over a week. Now. I love the features of this Gear Fit. It does everything! It even has some add on apps like a flashlight, which really came in handy last night when I knocked something off my nightstand. It sinks really well with my Note 4 too. I have no issues with its functionality.
My complaint with the Gear Fit is that it is really huge on my wrist. When I wear it I feel like I have a wide leather strap on my arm from the 70's. It also makes it hard to put on my winter gloves since the wrists don't want to stretch out that far.
I also don't like the ridges on the band.
I was hoping to see a belt clip accessory for this, but it appears Samsung only wants to focus on the wrist type applications. I did take it off the band and wore it in my pocket for a few days, but that was very inconvenient when checking my progress. It also won't work for sleeping patterns when it is off your wrist.
Overall is a great tool if you don't mind wearing larger jewelry, especially for a man. As for me, I am returning it and going with the Fitbit which isn't as thick and comes with a belt clip.
Pros: Bright display, easy to use for all phone related items, hr sleep exercise and step monitors
Cons: Too big

My wife bought me the Galaxy Gear Fit smartwatch because I'd been bugging her about getting me a competitor's watch. I had actually never heard of the Gear Fit until she brought it up, at which point I read up as much as I could about it. Suffice it to say, I was hooked. It had almost everything I wanted in a smartwatch: steps counter, heart rate monitor, phone connectivity. I already had a calorimeter in another watch, and I could track my runs using an app on my phone. So I guess I was set.
Tonight is the first time I've used this watch, and I can't say I have anything bad to say...yet. The steps counter is almost the same as having my phone in my pocket, except obviously it's smaller. Which leads me to my next thing. I can barely tell it's on my wrist, which is a definite plus. Since this is my first time playing with this watch, I'm really careful about banging it against surfaces and risk scratching up its face. The good thing about this watch is that you don't have to have the phone with you to track steps (although I think you need your phone with you to track other activities). It will make sounds if you set it up that way, and will vibrate accordingly. It has notifications when you get a new msg or a twitter interaction, and you can even control your media through it.
Appearance-wise, it's definitely stylish and sleek. Its silver trim mirrors the Samsung phones and actually looks like a mini-phone on your wrist. I believe that Samsung has since upgraded its system since its initial release to allow more apps to integrate within the Gear Fit's framework, and that is a good thing when you want to add some fitness-related apps.
All in all, it's not a bad deal if you want the phone integration with your watch. Haven't tried it yet but you can accept/decline phone calls from your watch, which is cool. Give it a try if you want something cool on your wrist.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, phone integration
Cons: usb charger is not on the unit itself
I would recommend this to a friend!

1. Should work with more devices.
2. I should be able to set alarms with watch alone, this feature is missing.
3. I should be able to add my name and phone number in case watch is lost. This feature is missing.
4. clasp is weak and can fall off. it needs continuous band.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Options, Tracker not for me

I am very disappointed with the exercise tracker on this device. I purchased the product thinking my calories would be tracked with the intensity of the workout (Higher heart rate). This is not the case. So far I have tried running because there is no option for personal training/ kickboxing type of work out. During a 1 hour hard workout, my device says I only burned 65 calories. It is totally useless for me. Also, even though it reads heart rate during the exercise, it does not record it. It would be nice to be able to analyze the workout intensity myself. I do like how it integrates the rest of the options with my S Health and it would work well for those who just Run/ Walk/ Hike/ Cycle.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations
I would recommend this to a friend!

fails in calorie counting

fabulous that this small device can connect to your cell phone for tracking your steps in running, walking, or even cycling but because it lacks a set for general gym activity it fails miserably in calculating the amount of calories that you burn per day. For example wearing another tracking device, I burned 2200 calories today and wearing the gear fit device it says I burned a hundred and sixty two lol after 1 hour of intense high intensity weight lifting and cardio circuit training. And walking half the day.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, stopwatch, previews cell phone messages, alerts you to phone calls
Cons: Did not meet expectations, calorie calculate is off 5000%
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

OK for smart watch terrible for fitness.

My wife bought me this for Christmas as a replacement for my fit bit flex. I wish I had read all of the reviews. As the title states it is OK as a smart watch, but is absolutely sub-standard for any of its fitness functions. Unless you just want a middle of the road smart watch do not purchase this.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
