Departed with my Gear Fit with Great Sadness

With great excitement, I purchased my first Gear Fit four months ago. The watch had all the functions I wanted in a fitness watch - heart rate measurement, pedometer, syncs in with my phone for receiving notifications as well as tracking my fitness progress through the S Health app. The watch itself is easy to use and aesthetically pleasing.
However a fundamental flaw for the watch lies in the design of the strap. The buckle design means that the watch can come off your wrist easily. A few close calls where the straps loosens and the watch fell off my wrists onto the ground. I was previously lucky to have spotted this and manage to not lose the watch.
It is with great sadness that the day has arrived where the strap failed due to the buckle design becoming loose once again resulting in the my watch falling off my wrist. This time without me noticing at the time as I was walking down a street and now the watch is lost.
I am very disappointed in this as I believe the watch itself is a great product with all the functions but the strap really let the whole product experience down.
I urge you to consider a more secure design for the strap so customers don't bare the risk of losing their watch. I truly believe if the strap is designed better for a secure fit then it wouldn't have fallen off my wrist.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm disappointed with the performance with this product. Distance calculation is way off and sometimes as much at 1/2 mile after running a 5K. I work hard for my miles and I'd prefer a more accurate unit. It looks stylish but that's all it's has going for the Gear Fit.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, stylish
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations, inaccurate distance calculations

Such a great piece of equipment. Meets almost every need for a working busy mother also trying to stay in shape. Most experienced fit geeks are using the well, known apps myfitnesspal and mapmyrun. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone! If only they would allow this gear to sync with those common apps. S Health is pointless for those who live in conditions where sometimes the gym workout is the only option. Please update soon to sync with those more commonly used apps! Your product would be number 1 for sure!

Kind of a fun gadget, but does not calculate distance accurate.

I received it as a gift and love the look and all the functions, however using the pedometer on my wrist does not calculate the correct steps. I have tried using it on my hip and it calculates the steps very accurate there but I wanted a wrist device. Hmmmmm. I have tried the exercise portion and found the exact results - not accurate. I am walking and hiking with a friend who is also using a pedometer and have something to compare to so that is how I know mine is incorrect. I don't want to give up so will to do some more research on settings and carry on. Love the different bands you can get for them.

the gear fit is a very good product however he could be improved by updating the software for the pedometer. If the software was updated to allow you to enter the length of your stride the pedometer would be more accurate.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: need to be able to enter length of step for pedome

I like everything about this product except the band. It works ok but it's come off my wrist a couple of times so far.

Great device - poor battery life

I do love this device: I use it quite a bit. My only complaint is that the battery life used to last roughly 4-5 days before a charge was needed, while now it is about 1-2 days.

Good but not usable with trackers.

I enjoy my Gear Fit, but now that I am trying to track my progress with a group I can't use the information from my Gear Fit in any trackers. It seems to only work with SHealth and a few SHealth friendly apps but nothing else. It seems that almost all the competitors are available to share their data except Samsung. This has made me consider Selling this and getting something from a competitor. It may have a nice screen and such but the fact that it is so locked down is discouraging. As of now the only data I can share is on my phone and nothing else, so my Running and Exercise never gets shared since the tracker has no access to that I guess.
I am a big Samsung user and I chose the Gear Fit over others because it was Samsung, I am now regretting that loyalty.
