I wanted to burn CD's, but it would only read an occasional CD and then shortly stopped showing up in my device list. A total waste of money!

Won't play music CDs

I bought this about a year ago to rip my old music CDs onto my computer. It only works about 25% of the time. Sometimes it doesn't recognize the CD. Other times it freezes up when ripping a track.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not working with my LG TV

Works fine for the price

I bought this a couple of years ago to make mix CDs with, and it works fine. It is more noisy than I would like, but that's not a huge issue. There are many extremely negative reviews for this product, many about the DVD functionality, but I didn't have any glaring issues with it. Admittedly, I haven't tried a DVD with it so I can't speak for that aspect, but it works well enough for my purpose of reading and writing CDs. I've had it for a few years and haven't used it regularly, but that isn't because it doesn't work, it's just because I don't buy music CDs to burn to my computer anymore. If you only want to read and write CDs, then this will be a fine product for you. Not amazing, but it works well for that.
Pros: ease of use, Performance
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good unit

Older dell internal cd/dvd drive croaked, so I needed something fast. Even though the description indicates it will work with Windows XP, it does not. However, my Dell has an older version of ULEAD, so this combination works fine. Clarity of video is better than original internal driver. CD playback/rip with windows media player works fine. Might buy another just to have a back ip.
