Emergency replacement

Great refrigerator. Quiet. Efficient use of space. Black stainless is very attractive.
A bit disappointed with the alignment of the doors. Instructions and a tool included for adjustments, but all adjustments have been done and doors still won't align. Obvious that this was a known issue with this unit because extra washers were inserted in left door.

Black Stainless finish is coming off :(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have been using this set less than a year. Anywhere hand come into contact regularly small parts of the finish are coming off. Then if you try to clean in those areas more finish will rub off.

Looks Great. Terrible Reliability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We loved the style and size of this refrigerator. The custom chill drawer is perfect for keeping beverages at the perfect drinking temperature. You can also use it for deli meats and lunch items for getting the kids (or hubby) ready for school / work.
Our fondness dimmed when, after less than a year of use, the compressor failed. Even worse, the replacement compressor failed after only a few days. That replacement worked for a while, but we became completely unhappy with the fridge when the icemaker stopped working a few months after that. Fortunately we had piurchased the LG extended service contract, as that repair was short-lived as well.
We are now awaiting a service technician to repair the same symptoms we experienced before - no freezing, no ice, no cooling in the fridge. After owning this unit for less than two years, we’ll have used 4 compressors, 3 icemakers, and have no reason to believe that this will last 1 day past the warranty period. I have lots of LG products, and can’t wait to replace them all with something else.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Poor Quality

Worked great until it stopped! Trying to get this repaired has been a nightmare. A&E service technician stated he fixes at least one of these LG models daily. Before you buy do the online research and see all the class action lawsuits and bad reviews for LG refrigerators.

Nothing but Trouble

we've had this refrigerator for not quite 4 years, and the technician has been here twice for warranty work... and now the ice maker does not work. Looks good... but mechanically nothing but trouble.

After searching the markets for the best refrigerator, it became clear that this LG model was what we wanted. Its design offered us the largest and most flexible refrigerator coupled with extremely high efficiency. In addition, it has a remote, electronic diagnostic system that permits a technician to communicate directly with the unit via phone to evaluate almost any problem via phone. It is a brilliant product.

I love the the black stainless steel, the 4 doors, the counter depth and the space-saving ice dispenser, plus it's nice and quiet. However there are some design flaws, a couple of which could have been avoided. There are 3 small vegetable/fruit bins (one of them tiny, serving no purpose at all) which prevent storage of a lot of common items due to their shallow depth. Celery cannot go in them, nor can most pre-packaged vegetables. The shallow depth is understandable, but having 2 wider ones instead of 3 smaller ones would have allowed celery to go in horizontally (side-to-side). It would be great if it could be modified, but I don't see how. The water dispenser would be much easier to use if the spout had been made longer or slightly farther out. The manual needs to cover more items, and have accurate information on some of the ones it does cover. If you're like most people and like to display items on the front of your refrigerator, be aware that the surface is not magnetized. I'm still trying to figure out where and how to have my emergency contact information readily available.
