Beautiful but a Dud

What good is a beautiful refrigerator if it is unreliable? I owned this item for less than five years. After an out-of-town visit, I came home to find both the freezer and refrigerator had failed. Everything was spoiled. The problem-which seems to be a common one-is that the compressor failed. Reconsider purchasing a more reliable appliance.

Lots of problems

Have had problems with the the fans on this 4 yr old refrigerator and now the compressor has gone out. While the compressor is under warranty, it has been 3+weeks and still no repair. An awful long time to be without a refrigerator

Looks great but do not trust

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As with others, this didn't make it to 4-years before the compressor failed and the board needed to be replaced. Repair guy showed up and said it'll take 2 more weeks to get it up and running. Very disappointed as historically our experience with LG has been good. Now looking at replacing a very expensive fridge with something that will hopefully last more than one presidential cycle.

I inherited this frig when I bought the house. It has been nothing but problems. It has a major design flaw with the blower and mechanical behind the freezer drawer. I've had service repairmen out several times. I would not recommend any LG frig with this design.

DO NOT BUY

Great styling; horrible performance. We had this refrigerator less than 3 years and the compressor had to be replaced. We had on/off performance problems for the subsequent 1.5 years. This year the new compressor started making incredibly loud noises and now will not cool below 50 degrees (even though the panel says it is set for 37), the freezer is also not keep cool. Both running 15 degrees hotter than they should be, when it cools at all.
Also, although the look is stylish, the finish started wearing off after 2 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good fridge, except for the icemaker. It is not very fast in making ice and we started having problems with it after one year (right after the warranty expired).The tray gets stick sideways and then the water overflows in tot the fridge.
