Aesthetically pleasing, nothing is uglier than big, fat black rubber hoses. Smaller, take up less room and not conducive to stuff and growth building up inside of them. Most importantly though, gives user the confidence of a lifetime free of leaks.

When I bought the washer they told me I had to purchase these hoses. Was very surprised when the washer arrived and hoses were included with the washer. Those hoses were rubber, so I guess it's safer to have the metal hoses as the washer is way too heavy to pull away from the wall and check to be sure they are not needing to be replaced.
