Waste of money and time

This product is not worth the money or time I have put into it. Multiple engine/turbine failures, brush rotation component failure and one major leak from dirty water hose that stained the carpet (only happened once but once was enough). When it did work it worked fine. Save yourself the aggravation and go to a vacuum store and buy a professional grade machine - there are many too choose from. Spend the money and save the aggravation and gas money.

What's great about it: When it works it does an ok job.

What's not so great: Engine/turbine failures, brush rotation component failure.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

left stripes

Had some trouble getting it put together. Tried to call the hotline and it was closed on Sunday's. Finally got it together and started on the carpets only to see it was leaving stripes where the cleaning brushes were. Tried going over the the stripes multiple times but finally just took it back and got the bissell.
We spent over two hours on a very small living room and see little difference.

What's great about it: Nothing

What's not so great: Short cord, scrubbing brush tracks

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked well for 2 1/2 years then no suction

I would not purchase another Hoover SteamVac Model F5914-900 because: 1) not a value for the price; 2) cheap construction; 3) clumsy to use. In spite of the fact that it did a decent job in cleaning our carpets and had adequate suction to remove soil and most of the so-called "steam" that was dispensed. For the money we paid, I expected it to last more than 2 1/2 years, during which time I used it about once a month. I cleaned the unit thoroughly after each use and kept it in clean and dry storage area. And yes, I did review all the troubleshooting details and ruled out any "Possible Cause(s)" and none of the "Possible Solution(s)" worked either. The only alternative - call an "authorized" Hoover Warranty Service Dealer - no thanks! The replacement will be a Bissel!

What's great about it: Cleaned carpets well - optimal moisture removal

What's not so great: For the money we paid, I expected it to last longer than 2 1/2 years

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Assembly was a nightmare

I bought this a week ago and have YET to be able to attach the clean water tank. Hoover's "customer service" isnt even open on the weekends. Plus, all of the service centers in my area were not helpful.

Great Product

I don't own one - YET!!
I borrowed my neighbors and fell in love with it within the first 5 minutes of use! It works great! I love the fact that if you go over the carpet a few times with just the machine (no cleaning solution dispursed), it dries the carpet so that you can walk on it within minutes of cleaning!

I would recommend this to a friend!

Great product

I bought this to replace an old Bissell. This works so much better that our old one. It's very easy to set up and use. I purchased back in June and have had to use it numerous times. My in-laws purchased the same one on my suggestion and had nothing but good things to say about it. It really removes the stains and cleans the carpets. The tools work great on my stairs. It doesn't leak either. That was my one big complaint about our old one, it always leaked out the bottom after we used it. No complaints on this product. I'm getting ready to purchase one as wedding gift for my brother and sister-in-law.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Best floor cleaner available.

The Hoover Steam Vac is about as close to a professional application as you can get. We have several pets in our house and the this product is worth a million! The machine is easy to use and very effective in rug and upholstery cleaning.
