Hello Krystal, we would like for you to try changing the following settings through the menu of your Home Theater System.
Press HOME, go to the left and select SETUP, go down to AUDIO SETTING, turn OFF the following options : BD Audio MIX Setting, Audio DRC, Attenuation settings - AUDIO. Under the option called SOUND EFFECT pleased try either selecting Sound Field On and test the available sources using the SOUND FIELD button on the remote or select Dolby Pro Logic, DTS Neo:6 Cinema]/[DTS Neo:6 Music for better sound quality.

Terrible!

Since day one I have had nothing but problems with this unit. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Often it doesn’t recognize discs at all or says the disc can’t be played. Only a hard reset (unplug) fixes this. So if you’ve had a hard day and all you want to do is put on a movie to relax, you can count on it failing you and increasing your stress level a bit more. When it does happen to work, it is an ok HTS. HDMI inputs are very limited with just 2 available but it sounds decent.

Soundsystem hangs and freezes all the time

Buggy software ruins the whole experience. The system hangs or freezes on a regular basis. I would not recommend it to anyone as long as the software isn't corrected.

System is Just AWFUL

I have ONLY purchased Sony since my dad worked for the company for 30 years. But this system is just awful! It rarely ever turns on recognizing the Vios cable box, the radio antenna is poor, Netflix also has an error but internet is connected (it's the system not recognizing the Netflix), forget about playing a DVD. It takes up to 30 minute of pressing the various functions for the system to recognize being connected to the cable box and TV or unplugging and re-plugging countless times. We have to set aside up to half hour (sometimes longer) when planning on watching TV. I have already replaced the unit 3 times, hoping that I will get a unit that does not have any bugs. Now when it eventually starts working, I am pleased with the sound and picture. U believe Samsung is a better picture quality, but I am Sony loyal. Sony needs fix these problems for the future models and ensure better quality in production or they will lose a valued and loyal customer in me to Samsung.

Great product for anyone who's looking for a great sound system for their living room entertainment system. It provides all the latest media access that you could think of while maintaining rich quality sound. Installation and system setup was very simple to grasp.

I bought the BDV 5200W model and have set up in my home. This is a very good quality system with lots of great features. Even the FM radio sounds like a Bose without paying the high price for it. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good quality home theater system without breaking the budget. Buyers beware- rear speakers are NOT wireless. The amplifier system allows you to plug into a different outlet, but wires are still used to power the rear speakers from the amplifier. I bought this unit thinking the rear speakers were battery powered, which they are not.
I would recommend this to a friend!
