Better than imagined

I avoided this product for two years, believing the negative reviews and not willing to accept the radical new design. Instead I bought and used the much cheaper Sandisk player which served adequately until recently. Going back to the market I became reacquainted with this updated Sony player and took the chance. It is WORTH the extra money. It works beautifully. It's sound is on a different level from the Sandisk - both fidelity and range. It is comfortable, easy to operate while wearing. It feels and looks solid. I haven't worn it in the rain but feel it's claim to be swim-proof should make that trouble free. Happy Camper here.

Great for bike rides

I figure anything I use every day deserves an excellent rating. I use these on my bike rides and it's nice not having any wires in the way. The sound quality is not the best but the convenience of them is worth the compromise.

A very good Product-but still room for improvement

Sound quality is only okay. I have to have the volume full when swimming. I believe that if the chamber, where the speaker is, was full flood or solid filled; sound quality would be 2-3x better.
Sound travels faster in water and, as I see it, when there is an airspace between the speaker, water and eardrum, the airspace blocks the "rich" sound.
Underwater speakers sound better than those in a submersible housing. But still, there is nothing else out there as good as these.

Love it... mostly

I love the comfort and sound quality. The best part is NO WIRES which makes it great for traveling and working out. I wish it had Bluetooth so it could be used as headset for my phone. Also, I was never able to use it for swimming. I tried all of the ear buds but none kept the water out. Even before letting the water in my ear. the volume with the water ear tips was too low to enjoy the music. I was very excited to finally be able to listen to tunes when swimming so this was a big disappointment. I hope they can improve on this in the future.

Mine has worked great! A little picky on charging lately but just cleaned and fixed the prongs on charger and it’s still going. I use it to workout 3-5 times a week 2 hour increments. It gets used!

I bought this less than 6 months ago for swimming. It worked great at first but then the sound stopped working even if the power light was still on and blinking.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great purchase

I like this product. I have had it for about 1 year and I can now say that I am happy with it. I do cycling, running, gym, and swimming. It works great for all sports. I have a MAC computer and one thing that I do find annoying is that in order to clear songs from it, I have to actually reformat the walkman since it doesn't let me delete songs individually. Adding them is a breeze but I like to keep interested so I try to change music often. Another reason why I did not give it five stars is that when swimming, it sometimes falls off. Quality during swimming can be touch and go at times if you get even a little water in your ear. Now, this is not to say that this is not a worth buy because it is.
I am a runner in South Florida. Most the times it is hot. I have gone through half a dozen ipods countless headphones and at least 3 "waterproof" Bluetooth headphones all lost due to sweat or rain getting to them. No matter what I did to protect the ipod it never lasted more than 6 months and waterproof headphones never lasted mire than a month. The Walkman has stood the test of time through excessive sweat and countless rain storms. The media go interface that comes with it is easy to use and imported all my play lists from iTunes. The controls on the Walkman itself allow you to adjust volume, pause, skip songs, skip playlist and are easy to use and control even while running. If you are a runner and like listening to music on your run and run regardless of weather conditions throw away your ipod and switch to the walkman
