Sound quality is very good. Knobs well designed. Meant to be set, then left alone. The memory is more than adequate.
About 4 years old. Its now switching from "all songs" to the random mode - uncommanded. Very annoying - tried rebooting to no avail.

Sony Walkman NW-WS413

My Sony Vaio, Sony digital camera, Sony home theater and Sony VHS all worked really well for years, some are still working. But I bought a Sony walkman NW-WS413 and it stopped working about 9 months after my purchase. I used the warranty and I got new one, great for Sony. But the second one also stopped working and now my warranty has expired (I got the new one in 2016) and I'm left with no product no money back.
Both walkman's never worked well while I was swimming, that's why I bought them for, so I hope this helps anyone interested in buying one to use while swimming. In my view it doesn't work.

This MP3 player is great and really is waterproof. The sound is good and without wires is really convenient.
It does have a couple of small drawbacks. 1. It is not bluetooth so it cannot be paired with music from another device. 2. The wires stick out from your head if not fit properly so it may be difficult to get under your goggles. 3. The back of head adjuster slides out of place quite a bit.
Overall though, these are great, especially for the price.
I would recommend this to a friend!

NWZ 273 Problems

I was very excited when I bought this Walkman NWZ273 since it would be the unique way to have fun swimming. In my opinion, it's a boring sport, however it changes when we can hear some songs.
I already had another Walkman from Sony (NWZ 260 if I'm not wrong) and it worked perfectly. That's totally different from NWZ273. I'm pretty sure that my NWZ273 has own will since it charges when it wants, it plays music when it wants, it turns on when it wants, it turns on the Zapping mode when it wants and also it turns on the shuffle mode when it wants. The only problem is that sometimes its will is not my will. Now, I'm not being able to turn on the Walkman and I will have to wait its will.

Dies after a couple of months

I bought one of these for my fiacé a few months ago. She were very exited because she could run and listed to her favorite music. But, suddenly, the player stop working and there's no chance to make it work again. Now she is very disapponted about the quality of the brand that even she doesn't trust to buy anything with the Sony brand printed on it.
A total waste of money upon a used to be trusted brand.

Good Concept

I use this product almost daily. I find it easy to recharge and download music. The issues I have with this product is turning on and getting the music to play. The other issue i have is music will play for a few seconds and then it makes a strange noise like it is skipping the rest of the song.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very comfortable but hard to use. Worst part is that it is not Bluetooth compatible. So it can only be used as an MP3, making it way to expensive for a that use only.

A device with lots of issues

Volume issues, resets, lack of responsive controls, do a web search, it affects multiple users. Not trivial to update firmware to 1.1
