I had a Kitchen Aid stand mixer for some 25 years and gave it away to my daughter about a year ago. I thought I could do without another. We make all our own bread and that can become a real task, especially if you've been working outside all day. Well, enough was enough. We bought the next bigger model for the added power and capacity. Works great, just as I had expected. There seems to be quite a bit of play where the motor is hinged to the base. More so than my old mixer. I hope it holds out.

My son bought me the Artisan series 5 Quart mixer for Christmas. Fortunately, he gave it to me before Christmas! I have never made cookie dough and pie crust so easily! And divinity! I finally have a mixer with the power to make wonderful divinity. I am looking forward to making 7-minute frosting, too! The next attachment I want is the pasta set! Wonderful mixer, don't wait purchase one now, to enjoy for years!
