Have had the unit for a few months now. Can't call it a mixer, blender, or food processor... but it does a bunch of it. And does it well. You can trust the time-proven build and design. KA hasn't cut corners replacing metal with plastic. The unit is a bit heavy, but it lends faith to strength and durability. Tends to stay on the counter because it will be needed for the next meal prep. Don't know how we got by without it? Wish we had gotten one for a wedding gift.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this stand mixer for Christmas. It shreds warm meat for recipes. No more forks!! Before first usage I cleaned the bowl with acetone and cotton balls, as one reviewer suggested. Then washed it in hot soapy water. No black streaks ever. This mixer is going to be used a lot.
