Best thing to happen to my kitchen

This mixer has changed the way I bake! Cakes take half the time to make, and it's much easier on my shoulders and back than using a hand mixer. Now that I have one, I can't imagine how I made it so long without it.

Its smaller then the old one I had, but again its just us and dont use like I used to. We remodeled the house this year and I was complaining I wanted/needed a new mixer. I wanted 2 certain colors to go with my new kitchen. My husband got the one I wanted and it was my Christmas present. LOVE IT, HAPPY CAMPER!

This is my second mixer. The other is still working but passed on to my daughter in law and it is over 20 years old. I needed a larger bowl so that is why I purchased a new one. The color is beautiful especially having the standard white model for a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always admired KitchenAid stand mixers, knowing that they are the Ferrari of kitchen appliances and it does not disappoint!!! I absolutely love love love my mixer!!!!! Yes it is expensive but it is worth every penny. Plus all the attachments you can purchase separately make it even more amazing! I find some reason to use it everyday!!! Don’t read any more reviews this is a must buy!!!!

It takes a bit to get used to this mixer; it is not like the two beater type. At first I wasnt a great fan, but after I bought the 'Metro Design Beater' and as I continued to use it I started to like it more and more. If you decide to buy this mixer I would absolutely recommend that you get the 'Metro Design Beater'; without it this mixer is nothing special (unless you bake a lot of bread). The Metro design beater has two rubber edges that scrape the sides of the mixing bowl as it mixes and eliminates the need to stop the mixer and scrape the sides. This mixer is fast and efficient and I have done whole wheat, rye and pumpernickel breads with it also cookie and cake mixes; it is now my go to mixer and it looks great on the counter.
(Do not use the Metro Design Beater on breads, it is made of plastic and will not hold up, but for cookie and cake mixes it is indispensable).
The clear plastic cover that "helps" keep the dry ingredients in the bowl sometimes is a help and sometimes a hindrance. To put flour in the bowl while mixing it is necessary (in my experience) to use a 1/2 cup measuring cup and pour it into the chute; put the mixer on one of the first 3 mixing speeds and it works quite well, otherwise flour flies all over the place.
I dont think this mixer is the ultimate mixer, but it does have the power to mix bread recipes quite well and it mixes lighter batters quickly. I like the handle on the mixing bowl when making cookies because I can stabilize the bowl with it while scooping out batter.
Pros: easy to use, Performance, Convenient Features
Cons: metro design beater should be standard equipment, feeder chute on plastic cover is too small
